My WD440 has trown its drive belt and something

My WD440 has thrown its drive belt and something seems to be sticking in between the drum and its casing. Ive emptied the filter and that wasnt the problem. I can manually rotate the drum and it randomly sticks or makes a noise like theres a sock or something stuck in there. Its not a screeching noise. Any ideas ?

Great tip. I took off the paddles and stuck some electrical flex into the gap and gave it a few spins. A lot of fluff started to show and there is definitely some cloth stuck there. Its spinning freely now, although I didnt remove anything, only probably dislodged it to a 'better' place. Im tempted to put on the machine to see if it makes its way down to the filter.

Hi
it sounds like there is a sock or something simular stuck between the drum and tank, the paddle is removable which may help you hook out the item,if you grab the drum paddle from the rear and pull it towards you it will then lift up,once you have removed the offending item, you just line up the slots on the drum with the pegs on the paddle and push towards the rear of the machine and you will here a click, this means the paddle is secure.

Hey i have a husqvarna ride on now and then when i run over a stick or a rock it makes i high whinning noise. Turn the blades off and on again it goes away untill it hits something again.. any ideas ...

I am unfamiliar with the model but taking a guess; the drive belt could be slipping when it picks up something. It would be a good idea to look underneath to see what those sticks and stones might be getting stuck on instead of being thrown clear and check the drive belt for condition and tension.

Washing machine drum seems to be jammed. Filter is clear. Drive belt seems to be intact OK and intact. Any suggestions?

sounds like something jammed between the inner and outer drum.
sometimes people get curtain hooks jammed in there. Obviously turn off the power before you start dismantling it. Sometimes you can get access via the drain plug opening with a long screwdriver or something.

My wife was driving her 97 bonneville she said it lost all power smoked really bad and barely made it off the road i cramked it over and it wasnt even trying to start would it be fuel or timing

Fuel or timing would not explain the smoke.
Start by checking fluids.
Then do compression check.
Watch for cam so that you can see if timing belt thrown.
You may find water on plugs or something.
Could have thrown timing belt, cracked a piston, etc.
Only after everything seems normal, then try starting fluid spray, to see if may be fuel problem.
Use inductive timing light to ensure spark.

The belt that drives the drum on my washing machine keeps slipping off, It is a brand new belt so have no reason to believe it has worn. When we put it back on it is so difficult to do, but as soon as it...

Check the alignment of the pulleys, If they are not perfectly aligned the belt will be thrown off at high speed. Also check that the axles are parallel to each other because if a pulley rides higher on one side the belt will ride towards the higher point and be thrown off the pulley.

Maytag Neptue frontloading washing machine model MAH5500BWW stopped spinning (machine is about 15 years old). I opened up the back and saw the drive belt was thrown. Reinstalled it (perhaps badly) and...

i would say you have a warped main pulley, run the machine in spin, watch it early to detect any wobling in the belt should be no sideway movement. also check main pulley is tight with no lateral wobling.

My belt broke as I was rotating the drum with the dryer off to clean the inside of the drum. the drum does not turn freely nor did it prior to the belt breaking. Could there be something else wrong beside...

There are drum felts / seals in the front and back of the drum. If either of them are overly worn the drum will drag. Also if an article of clothing got wedged in either of the seals it will act as a brake.
Before you head off for a belt I would gain access to the drum and check the drum seals and the rollers underneath the drum. If the rollers are sticking that too will make the drum hard to turn. When the drum rollers stick they usually end up with flat spots on them and must be replaced.

Thanks for using FixYa.

p.s. dont forget to reconnect the door switch if you took off the front panel.

Dryer starts but drum won't turn

The drum drive belt is either broken, or thrown off of the motor-drum drive and/or idler pulley.

A belt costs less than $20.00 and can be easily replaced if you are mechanically-inclined, or you can call the repair folks and let them know what the problem is, and get a sketchy phone estimate.

Total time to replace a drum drive belt is about 45 minute, if you check all the other components and do general cleaning/service/lubing while you have the machine open.

I need to put a new drive belt on my hoover hdv6 tumble dryer, how do i do this?

usually two belts one from drive motor and the other a big one to turn the drum. Take the back access panel off and loosen the tension on the motor for the first one ... for the drum belt you have to pop the top of the dryer open (use something like a paint stir stick and a hammer on each front top corner of the dryer to pop open the clips. nothing metal or you will chip the enamel paint)
