SOURCE: Microwave turntable won't stop running

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, but may instead be a loose door switch mount or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: Turntable does not turn anymore

The most likely causes are the motor itself, or a failed relay on the control circuit board, which we repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/blog.htm

This is a pretty good mechanical check of the turntable assembly.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this further, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

SOURCE: i purchased an intellichef microwave

I have the same oven and it did the same thing. I fixed it by removing the drip pan and removing 3 screws and poping the plate, the screws are holding down, up you won't be able to remove it all the way out, then clean out all the gunk that has built up in it put plate back in place and screws back in and hopefully that will be enough to get it going again. It worked on mine.

My Intellichef microwave model #K0936 has stopped working. I've tried different outlets but the microwave is not responding. Is there an internal fuse that has blown or is the microwave dead?

If the fuse is blown the microwave will be "dead". The fuse is accessed by removing the cover. You can usually find the fuse by following the power cord into the microwave. Unplug the microwave and don't touch anything except the fuse as the capacitor can hold an electrical charge.

I need to replace the glass turntable for my intellichef microwave oven - model #K0936. Can you help me find this item? Thanks! Elaine

Personally, I would go around the garage sales and car boot sales to fin one but any glass dish will do.
The manufacturers web site should have a list of agent/sellers that may have spares.
Hope that helps.

The turntable doesn't rotate anymore

The turntable system typically consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

Here is a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts for many brands by entering your full model number here, but if your brand is not listed, try Encompass or call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If neither source has parts for your model, please post a NEW inquiry here on FixYa and please include your brand name and the full model number from the tag in or on the unit, as well as mentioning that you have turntable-related trouble.

Turntable not rotating on my microwave

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again. If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. You can download your owner's manual here: http://www.miele.co.uk/Resources/OperatingInstructions/M%20625%20EG.pdf On the last page it has the contact information for various countries. You can locate servicers or spare parts. The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray. Microwave turntable won't turn

You may have a tunrtable motor or spindle problem..
This info is from GE website..( link : http://genet.geappliances.com/geasearch/Dispatcher?REQUEST=GETSEARCHRESULT

To minimize the possibility of electric shock, unplug this appliance from the power supply before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Make sure the turntable is centered and seated properly. On models with a stirrer motor there is a shaft protruding up through the floor of the microwave. Make sure the turntable is securely fastened to this shaft. On models that turn on a ring with wheels attached, make sure the turntable is seated securely on the ring.
  • Check the turntable to make sure it is placed right side up. If the turntable plate is upside down it will drag on the floor of the microwave.
  • Check to make sure that there is no food or debris under the "wheels" of the turntable ring. Food can prevent the wheels from moving forward.
  • Be certain you are pressing a cook function rather than a timer function.
  • If the microwave has a turntable on/off feature make sure the turntable was not inadvertently turned off. Try depressing the turntable on/off pad to re-engage the turntable.

GE turntable microwave Je1540WW 002 Turntable doesn't turn

I have had the turn table motor go defective in microwave ovens.

Normaly, before ordering a new motor, I always checked to make sure that there was power going to the motor assembly. I never had a power drive failure to a motor so-far. When they did not spin, the motor was defective. But, one day there will be a first time for me.

The fix was to purchase a new motor from the manufacture and install it. In some cases, I had to also replace the spindle key because the original broke when trying to remove it when removing the motor assembly.

I suggest that for servicing a microwave oven, you give it out to a service center to have the work done. There are safety issues when working on microwave ovens.
