I opened my phone to read a text message, and the screen froze. so i took out the battery, put it back in, and pressed the power button. but now, the only thing it's doing is showing the LG lotus screen. i've tried plugging it in to its charger and then turning it on, and i've tried leaving the battery out for a few minutes, but nothing is working.
Mine started doing the same thing yesterday. In doing a bit of research I found on the LG support forums that the phone is probably fried. The good news is that it's covered under the 1 year manufacturers warrenty and can be returned to the sprint store, or your carrier and they will replace it on site. I've already talked to Sprint and they said as long as there's no water damage or other visable signs of shock that would have caused the damage that they'll provide me with a new phone. This was a huge relief to me, I loved this phone before it went batty and really can't afford a new one.
Hope it works out for you as well.

First, make sure if this problem appear after you install any APP, if so you can try to brush system to fix it. Else maybe the following cases:
1, mobile phone motherboard leakage lead the current too large. 2, The inside circuit protection of the lithium battery is too sensitive, so it power off when circuit is large. 3, the battery itself is aging. 4, Battery contacts are dirt-bit, causing bad power supply. 5, The engagement between the battery and the phone is easy to loose bits. (try to remove the back case and press the battery then try to turn on it to see if it also turn off and on). If so, just make a piece of paper to stand the battery up Of course, don't forget to see if the power button is back to its own place
Ugh. The same exact thing happened to mine. I am so incredibly angry and frustrated! I heard that trying a new battery might work... I tried my sister's battery, since she has the same phone, and it was no go for me, but you ought to give it a try if you can... I did everything I could to try and fix it, but it won't do anything else!
I am on my 3rd LG Lotus and have had the exact same issues with my screen with all of them...freezing up, blank/black screen, and the picture being all scrambled, or even funky colors. This is all due to LG's brilliant design of the hinge on the phone. Notice how when you have the phone open the top part (with the screens) has a bit of give in it if you push on it? That "give" is the hinge pinching the wire that supplies electricity/data to the screens. LG has designed the hinge so poorly that it cannot withstand normal wear and tear of being opened and closed for even a few weeks before it begins to fail. Shame on you LG!! I smell a lawsuit coming on.....
As far as a solution, there isn't really one except for get a new phone if you can. Maybe even get the warranty on it (something like $7 a month plus a crazy deductible between $50-$100). After fixing it 1 or 2 times, you could have purchased a different phone. This is really upsetting because the Lotus is such an awesome design. LG, I hope you are reading this.
If you have a memory card in the phone...take it out. then turn take out the battery. Turn it back on. And if that works. its because you have a virus and or corrupted file on that memory card. Same thing happened to me. But now the screen is all messed up everytime i slide it open or closed.
