I have been in contact with Aerus Electrolux by email and have been advised to call 1-800-243-9078 regarding this. Please give this number a try and hopefully their Customer Service Representaive will be able to provide the manual you require.
As hooton8 stated i have the electrolux epic 6500 sr. as well and when i attempt to vacuum i turn it on and it turns off after about 3 seconds. new bag nothing stuck in tube. I turned dial to the right all the way. Works when hose is not connected..hose is clear.
This machine is sold only by a Electrolux dealer. Only they can get you the correct hose part. But you are right, it sounds like you have a bad electrical connection in this hose. That has been common.
