Question about Compaq Presario R3000 Notebook
Does your fan always run? If so, it may be overheating. There's a circuit overheat protection function that will shut your computer down when it gets too hot. Check on the underside of your laptop where the fan intake is located. If it is clogged with lint and debris, it needs to be cleaned. Take off the bottom of the computer and blow off the debris from the fans, heat sink, and intake grill with compressed air. I found a step by step process with pictures by googling this topic but am unable now. Hope this helps!
