Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I turn on my computer. the sound is perfectly fine. then i plug in my Xbox 360 Controller to my USB slot. and i get no sound. It works fine when not plugged in.
I also registered to post the solution. This is actually a very easy fix.
Goto > Start > Control Panel
Open > Sounds and Audio Devices
Goto > "Audio" Tab
Change > "Default Device" back to your sound card rather than the x-box controller.
Press > "OK"
When you plug in the x-box controller it makes itself the default audio playback because it has a headphone jack on it.

Weird sound or sound problems

Try updating your firmware on your USB card/motherboard and sound card. That may make the noise go away if they are older components.

Tips for a great answer:
The Xbox 360 utilizes two
types of controllers: wired and wireless. Like most operations on a
video game console, configuring a controller requires little effort. You
can either plug the controller into a port on the Xbox 360, or sync a
wireless controller using the console's built-in controls.
