Question about Air Conditioners
Hi, Im hoping someone could shed some light on my problem. I have an Amana prestige II unit in our home and it breaks down. Always when we need it the most. The hottest and coldest times of the year.
Its less than 4 yrs old.
Usually the "surface ignitor" in my attic is replaced. It has been replaced 3 times.
The last time a big capacitor was changed out in the ac unit itself outside the house(cost me 300$)
In the summer the ac stops working...in the winter the heater goes out. Usually after being on for long periods of time.
Cap is worth about 16 dollars the surface ignitor around 40 there is a ball style that can be moded sometimes with a kit . the wafer type are prone to breakage if there is a lot of vibration in the house or possibly your furnace blower cage is bad.around 60 for that. i think your getting taken
