Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9564J Top Load Washer

4 Answers

I HAVE KENMORE HE3T AND I KEEP GETTING THE 'HF' MALFUNCTION CODE. I HAVE COMPLETED THE TROUBLESHOOTING RECOMMENDATIONS, i.e. CHECKING WATER SUPPLY LINES FOR KINKS (THERE WERE NONE) AND CLEANING THE INPUT WATER SUPPLY LINES FILTERS/SCREENS LOCATED AT THE CONNECTION POINT AT BACK OF THE WASHING MACHINE (I REMOVED AND CLEANED THOROUGHLY WITH BRUSH AND PEROXIDE.) STILL, THE "ADD GARMENT" LIGHT INDICATOR STAYS ON UNTIL THE 'HF' MALFUNCTION CODE BEGINS TO FLASH ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH THE ENTIRE WASHING CYCLE. IT WILL NOT ADD WATER AGAIN UNTIL I MANUALLY PUSH THE RINSE AND DRAIN BUTTON ON THE WASHING MACHINE FRONT PANEL. THE ONLY WATER THAT THE SUPPLY HOSE ADDS IS IN THE INITIAL WASH CYCLE--BUT THE 'ADD GARMENT' LIGHT IS NOW STAYING ON TOO LONG--AND THEN, THE 'HF' MALFUNCTION CODE APPEARS. THE SOAP DISPENSER IS MOSTLY DRAINED WITH SUDS LEFT IN IT AND THE SOFTENER IS NOT DISPENSED BY THE TIME THE 'HF' APPEARS. ALSO HAVE THE UNIT HOOKED UP TO AN INTELLIFLOW BY WATTS TO PREVENT ANY WATER OVERFLOW. I JUST DISCONNECTED THE WATER PAN SENSOR AND THIS HAS NOT CHANGED THE WASHING MACHINE MALFUNCTION PROBLEM.

water will add when I push the 'rinse/drain' button on front panel, but will not add water automatically, and still the "HF" error message.

  • caterina Aug 03, 2009

WE HAVE FOLLOWED THE SUGGESTIONS OF OTHER EXPERTS. STILL THE PROBLEM OF NOT GETTING ENOUGH WATER AFTER THE INITIAL FEW SECONDS OF THE CYCLE AND THEN THE FOLLOWING ADDITION OF WATER FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THE DRUM TOSS THE CLOTHES AND I THEN GET A 'HUMMING' NOISE----LIKE IT WANTS TO ADD MORE WATER BUT DOESN'T. IF I PUSH THE RINSE/SPIN BUTTON ON THE PANEL IT WILL ADD THE WATER NEEDED AND FINISH THE WASH. COULD IT BE A NEED TO RESET THE COMPUTER PANEL? HELP.

  • caterina Aug 03, 2009

I WAS DIRECTED TO THIS WEBSITE FROM A PREVIOUS EXPERT. I FOLLOWED THE CLEANING OF THE FILTER, ETC. AND BLOWING AIR INTO THE DRUM, ETC AND THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. NOW WHAT?

  • caterina Aug 03, 2009

I have been to that website by another expert and followed the advise to no avail.

Water still not entering past the initial inputs.

There is something that I would like for you to try. The water level switch has a small clear plastic tube attached. The air tube is supported by a small retainer that establishes the tube routing toward the side of the machine cabinet. If the tube falls out of the retainer ( and this has been known to happen), it will dangle in the danger zone near the spinning pulley/belt. The belt contacts the tube and wears a thin spot in the tube. Just enough to to allow the machine to fill, but air escapes slowly and when enough has escaped, the unit goes back into fill mode. Eventually, the water counter sends feedback to the controller that it has filled with an excessive amount of water and will default to the HF condition. Check out the condition of the plastic tube before moving to anything else. It's worth a try. Sure hope this helps and best wishes.

Hi,

There might be many reasons for this code. According to the manual, they have mentioned only few basic one which i hope you already checked. Still let me post a nice link which shows the exact way to solve this :-

If you are sure that it's all done and there is nothing wrong with the Kenmore cleaning stuff, more likely it might be a Faulty Main Control Board.

If you are Qualified tech, check and replace if needed unless Give a Service Call to Kenmore. There is more than a small issue with your machine.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Washer starts and runs for about 10 minutes. Then stops and gives error message HF

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

FH error code is displayed when the control detects no water entering the machine. To clear this error press and hold the PAUSE/CANCEL button twice. You can then check if the water inlet valve is fine and not clogged with foreign particles, try to clean it. If the water inlet valve appears to be fine then check if the pressure switch hose is properly connected to the pressure switch & tub. Please get back to me if you have any questions.

HF error flashes, then after 7 min. drains machine, but won,t go in wash cycle

Kenmore HE3T front loading washing machine. About every 2 minutes the cycle stops and flashes an "f" then an "h" on the display over and over again. **

That error code can be the result of no water detected entering machine after 30 seconds or pressure switch (water level control) activation not detected after 8 minutes of filling.

If there is no water in the machine at the time, make sure that both water taps are turned on, check for kinked fill hoses or plugged sediment screens in them and verify the water fill valve operation.

If there is water in the unit, verify drain pump and water pressure switch are operating properly, the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to the pressure switch. Also, make sure the water is not siphoning out of the machine prematurely due to an improperly installed drain hose

That error might also be caused by too much suds in the wash water like can result from using non-HE detergents

Kenmore elite HE3t when the weather gets extremly cold outsude we always get the "HF" code

The "FH" error is a No Water Detect error. This is an indication that you have either no water, or little water coming into the washer. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608753-fh_error_code

I would suspect that if the error only occurs when it is very cold outside, that you may have some restrictions in the water lines coming to the tap to your washer. You may also turn the water off and remove the fill hoses to check for obstructions in the sediment screens.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you still require assistance. I hope this helps you.

I keep getting the F21 code on my kenmore HE3t washing machine. What does it mean other than call for service?

The f21 code means that you need to clean the filter.

EXPLANATION AND RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE
F21 LONG DRAIN

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valves turn off.
NOTES:After 4 minutes the “Sd” error will be displayed, then
4 minutes later the “F/21” error code will be displayed. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display.

Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or
kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure
the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

Kenmore Elite HE3t which F21 code

I'm guessing the HOSE is the drain hose.
The goop is causing the drain motor to overheat causing it to report error. (luckily or it'd burn out).
Give it a empty load with nothing in it to see if it flushes it all out.
Just water.
See if it completes full cycle and check pump filter again to see if clean.
TIP. Make sure you check ALL pockets before you wash clothes.
;)

Kenmore Elite He3t front load washer - error code reads H & F

the F code is a puwer outige. This is how to fix
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call
for service.
This is what an HF code is.
"FH" (Water Inlet Problem--no water or insufficient water
supply)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press
START. If the problem remains, call for service.

What does a flashing code HF mean? This is a kenmore elite HE3t washer. thanks

That is the code for a water inlet issue.  Meaning "no or insufficient water supply" according to the manual. It says to hit PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel cycle. Then unplug unit and check for:
Are faucets completely turned on? Are screens at the inlet hose connection to washer clogged? Are inlet hoses kinked? And last...Are inlet hoses frozen? After checking all those it says to plug back in, re-select cycle and press START. If problem still comes up call for service. I remember on another site someone had the same code coming up, all the inlet suggestions checked out OK and they had to call for service as it was something in the control panel/computer of the unit.
Hope your issue is something simple as suggested by the manual. Take care ; )

Kenmore Elite HE3t

Here's a link that explains the "FH" error code:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615354-fh_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Read through these steps and let me know if you require further assistance. HINT: I'm assuming you have water entering the wash tub since you mentioned the washer will begin a wash cycle. Check for a siphoning issue or Drain Pump problem first. These are the simplest items to check. I hope this helps you.

PS There should be a tech sheet located inside you washer behind the lower panel under the door, or along the interior cabinet wall that explains all the error codes and how to troubleshoot. This may also assist you further.

Kenmore Elite washing machine

This code means its not getting a sufficient water supply. I was doing a cold wash and noticed it was sucking down some hot water, so shut off the hot. MISTAKE, after a little bit the HF code came up. Apprently it likes to decide for itself just how cold is cold. Darned Computers.

To make a short story long, when I shut off the hot, it apparently shredded the washer and sent the remnants down to the little filter thingy at the washer itself, whereupon they reassembled themselves into a clog, once again giving me the HF code.

(Check your user manual Troubleshooting section. I think it says to press Pause/Cancel twice)
