Pull the agitator out and make sure its not just a broken bolt, There are two bolts that hold the basket assembly in place on the transmission crank.

I had same problem. It was actually wearing out the rubber gasket on front door. It ended up being the spider on back of drum. They corrode pretty good with the front loaders.

My washer is making an awful noise and it wont spin like it suppose to what is wrong

your inner drum bearing lip-seal has gone bad and the inner drum bearings are now water soaked and rusted and need replacement, parts are cheap, but depending how long it takes to remove and clean the bearing races and time/labor you will need to check on in your area

My maytag washer model #sav5710aww shakes badly and

if its a neptune front load washer you need new tub lip seal and bearings for the drum as the seal is leaking water into the bearings that hold the inner drum,it will only get worse, you need to remove the inner drumto replace the seals and bearing it takes from 2 to 6 hours depending how hard the old bearings come out of the race

Progressively louder on spin maytag neptune model# MAH5500BWW serial#C8028996LC

You have a bad rear drum bearing ( unfortunantly , so do I ) . This involves removing the inner drum and outer drum . The complete rear of the outer drum , has to be replaced , due to the bearing is already installed in the new one . Very expensive to have done and very time consuming to do yourself . You probably should invest in a different washer . Front load washer manufacturers , have not come up with a way to support the front of an inner drum as well as supporting the rear also . Until this happens , rear bearing problems and excess expense for repair , will continue to be the downfall of front loading washers .

Loud clunking sound during the spin cycle, washer is balanced and on 2nd floor

If you get a very loud noise coming from the machine, and this noise islouder when it spins faster, then it is often because of a problem with the drum bearing.

The drum bearing is bad, probably drum bearing spider had broken.

On a front load the drum bearing is located at the back of the drum.

To replace the part you take apart machine, undo the belt and depending on the model you may need to remove more parts.

You can find parts and diagrams for most models here.

Sounds like a Harley when it spins, still spins though.

Loud spin noise from Maytag washer

Check the drum bearing, a load noise, and often spinning problems are symptoms of a bad drum bearing.
