I'm not an expert, but I've recently had do so repairs to my side by side refridge. I assume you mean the control panel on the outside of the freezer door. Look underneath the panel, where the ice comes from. There is a white plastic housing. Where the white housing meets the control panel, there are 3 small holes. you can remove the control panel by using a number 1 phillips head screwdriver, or maybe even a good sized nail, and push up into the 2 outer holes. There is a release mechanism which is released when you poke the holes.

Ice dipenser making motor noise but not turning screw and freezer temp good but fridge side not cooling

These are two different problems. One for the ice seems to be the grooves turning the ice dispenser have been worn. For the cooling side of the refrigerator you need to replace the thermostat. Its best to call a technician if you are unsure what you are doing.

Ice maker making ice but only gives out crushed ice

I had this problem and found it was caused by the flap in the ice dipenser staying open. When I manually closed the flap it corrected it. Now I have to find out how to change the flap.

Ice cube button is lite but the only dipenses crushed ice

We have had this problem on occasion. The lever up in the ice dispencer gets jammed with frost and ice. If you remove the ice bucket/auger and let it thaw or just rinse it with water and dry it. Give it a try. -Matt

Automatic ice maker will not dipense ice cubes.

This may be a circuit board problem for which there might be a recall from GE. I had the same problem and found information about it on the web site below.

No Ice on GE Side by SIde -TFX25JRYF-WW

Usually there is a big metal frame-switch that controls the flow of water. It is located right above the ice tub. If your ice tub is full the ice cubes push this metal switch up so as to stop water supply. If you remove the ice tub out, chances are that you have accidentally pushed the metal switch all the way up until it clicks and stays there. In this position, the ice mold water flow is permanently stopped.

Insert the tub again in its position slowly. Before fully inserting it, pull the metal switch down inside the empty tub. With the switch down, insert the ice tub back into position.

If that does not apply for your refridgerator, look for a similar water flow switch to turn back on the water flow.

Hope this helps

Water/ice dipenser

Sorry, these become dirty after a period of time. Try spraying up with soap and water, clean as best you can, let dry. And then spray with a canned lubricant. Silicone type, (as opposed to WD-40 type) may work best. But OK to try either.
