Maytag Washing Machine Problem

My 5-year old Maytag fills with water fine, but does not progress to the next cycle. Throughout the past week, it would get "stuck" during a certain part of the cycle and not move to the next cycle. Does this sound like a bad timer?

    Chris 72,

I replaced my timer tonight and the problem still persists. When I start a load, the water continues to fill the tub, while it drains out at the same time! It never progresses to the next cycle. Any more ideas?

MACHINE CONTINUES TO FILL WHILE PUMPING OUT WATER SO WASH NEVER BEGINS. CALLED tech support, suggested raising drain hose from drain pipe to see if fixs. Occassionally it does but unit has worked fine for first year with no change to piping. I even extended the drain pipe still does not work each time. Is this the timer also? Also having issue with tearing of towels.

Bosch washing machine fills with water throughout any cycle

Just a guess but could the fill valve be defective, not shutting off completely when it should?

Water leaks (drips ) into tub after cycle/spin is complete

You have a bad pressure switch or the small hose connecting to the pressure switch may be bad

If the washer leaks water when is filling only, check the following: 1.Fill hoses
2.The water mixing valve

3.Filling injector ( If your washer uses one )
4.Filling spout

If the washing machine leaks during the wash cycle, check the following:
1.The pump
2.The tub stem & seal
3.Tub to pump hose
4.The drain hose
5.Tub (rusted holes)
6.The drum support bolts

If the washing machine leaks during the spin cycle, check the following:
1.The drain hose
2.The tub cover seal
3.The pump
4.The pump hoses

5.The stem & seal
6.The drum support bolts

White flakes in circular pattern under washer of 7 years. Time to replace?

First we started hearing a grinding sound during the spin cycle. My husband replaced the belt, which was loose and not helping the spinning of the tub any, thus much wetter clothing after spin cycle. The belt gave us another week of use out of the machine and did drain the tub better, but then water started leaking into the tub from the water inlet (or area where water rushes in to fill tub), and was not up to the usual "rush" of water, when filling up. The grinding sound started again during the spin cycle, and so now we are assuming it is the ball bearings or the brakes and perhaps the water pump as well. Estimates for these jobs on the boards seems to run from $400-500.00. The machine is only 7 years old, but after reading so many posts, maybe I should count my blessings that it lasted that long! This was an all mechanical machine, which I loved. Atlantis Maytag, a very sturdy and solid looking machine. Never did really clean that well though. SOLUTION: we are getting a new machine.

Maytag Neptune MAH-1 won't stop filling with water

A couple things may be going on here... you may not want to hear, but the Neptune has a had many "consumer related problems".

If your complaint is "will not stop filling with water" I would access your inlet water-valve (typically blue with 2 black battery looking solenoids; where your water-lines connect directly), test for continuity and replace as necessary. Sometimes inlet-water valves also go bad where the complaint is: "no water comes in at all".

Maytag atlantis washer

Start by checking the belt by tilting the machine back and examining for wear, glazing and cracks, next pull the belt to make sure everything turns. Post back if this looks fine.
