SOURCE: I own the Kenwood DNX7140 navigation system.

You need to update your software. Garmin does this through a downloaded file you burn to a CD. You then do a firmware update to the Kenwood from the CD. Instuctions are on-line at:

SOURCE: updated laptop to windows 7....need

The Targus ACP50US Docking Station does not seem to have an updated driver for Windows 7. You can attempt to install the docking station using the driver found at this link but that may not work as it is only meant to be used for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. I'm sorry but if that driver does not work, the docking station will not work until there is a new driver for Windows 7.

Thank you for using FixYa!

My Dell Inspiron wont start the power light comes on but is very dim i have tried a repair disc and windows o/s disk but nothing happens onl a dim screen the drive spins up then stops after about a mi

It doesn't sound like a software issue. Try removing the battery from the laptop and try to start it again. Your battery may be faulty. The power supply should still be able to start it if the battery is bad.

I am trying to install an Java 6 update 20

If you are using any form of Anti Virus software, it could be stopping the installation process. Go to the SUN Java website, and download the latest version. Save it to your desktop. Take a moment to reboot your machine completely. DO NOT start any other programs after rebooting. Stop or disable your ANTI VIRUS software. Install the JAVA update and reboot. The update should work, and upon rebooting after the install, your AV software should start again. If it is still disabled, enable it.

Dell Latitude D410 keyboard cannot keep up with typing and touchpad is out of control

This is a two way problem, I mean that its either a software issue or hardware issue.

Try this:

1) use your CURRENT antivirus software and completely scan your pc
2) download Tuneup utilites and run the one click matenance software completely

3) Update everythig after you complete both: Update windows, update word, update your harware drivers too from Dell (if you call dell they will help you get your current drivers if you call them)

After all this and it still is acting the same way, then you have a hardware failure and may need a replacement touch pad from dell and a replacement keyboard.

Hope this helps

Cannot get out of Configurating updates: stage 3 of 3 screen

This is all I could find:

It's not only Windows Vista Service Pack 1 that isn't ready for general consumer availability. Some of the updates released on February 12, 2008, as a part of the Microsoft monthly patch cycle, have managed to effectively kill Windows Vista. Users are reporting that, following the introduction of the February 12 updates, Vista gets stuck at the finalization of the deployment of the updates displaying the message "Configuring Updates Stage 3 of 3 0% completes" and then entering
an infinite reboot loop. And there is absolutely no way out for the end users, because canceling the configuration process of the updates is a move equivalent to losing access to the operating system entirely. This will even happen in Safe Mode.

Microsoft has yet to officially respond to the issue, or to provide a resolve or at least a workaround. However, it does seem at this point that there is an issue with the deployment of the pre-requisite updates necessary for the smooth installation of Windows Vista SP1. Namely, the problem resides in the Vista installation software. The fact of the matter is that end users will have to first update the Vista installation software and only then deploy the remaining February 12 updates and only at the end Vista SP1 RTM.

If you are stuck watching the "Configuring Updates Stage 3 of 3 0% complete Do not turn off Computer" and in the endless reboot loop, then stop the cycle and boot from the Vista media. You will need to "Repair your computer," so select your Vista installation and restore it to a point before the deployment of the updates. After gaining back access to your operating system, you will have to install the service stack update, namely Update for Windows Vista (KB937287). Deploy this update before any other on your Vista, and only then install the rest. At this point in time, you should experience no more problems.

"Update 937287 is a prerequisite package that contains updates to the Windows Vista installation software. The installation software is the component that handles the installation and the removal of software updates, language packs, optional Windows features, and service packs. Update 937287 is necessary to successfully install and to remove Windows Vista SP1 on all versions of Windows Vista," Microsoft revealed.
