Question about HP Compaq d530 SFF PC Desktop

Hp compaq d530 400 watt power supply

I want a power supply that will fit in my d530 sff computer so i can put in a bigger graphics card in it and a tv tuner. I am wanting to add a 1gb ati radeon graphics card to my computer or a 512 mb nvidia geforce graphics card. They both require me to have at least a 400 watt power supply. Where can i find a 400 watt power supply that will fit my pc? Remember that this is a small form factor pc. The product series of the psu that is in it right now is the pdp-124p series. Right now it has a 185 watt power supply with a 20pin atx connector for the p1 cable. All of the rest of the cables are the same as any other power supply. If i can't get a power supply that will fit this computer, is there an eternal power supply unit that i could get for it? Any help would be much appreciated.

You will not find a power supply for this case. Why would you want to upgrade such an old computer? Get yourself a new one with amply power for your needs. If you are one that upgrades regularly, get a standard case with standard components that can be upgraded without the hassle of replacing proprietary form-factor compnents.

Replace integrated Radeon 4200

You can't replace integrated graphics, the chip is on the motherboard.

See what you have for PCI-E slots, a forty dollar graphics card is three times better then your 4200.

VGA Support?

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2358#sp

Your mainboard supports 1 x AGP 8x slot ( the green slot )

The new PCI-e express does not fit the socket.

When you add a bigger graphic card, you will probably need a bigger power supply.
I recommed a 500 watt or bigger.
Most external graphic cards uses 150 to 250 watts, depending of the size of the card.

I also recommed ATI/AMD graphic cards.
Such graphic card, can be bought online, or in a computer shop.

Good luck

Can i put Nvidia 7300 SE 512mb 64bit video card on hp dc7600sff with 240 watt power suply will it work and not burn or overheat power suply or some other part?please help

Hi.

Yes you should be able to install that card in the DC7600 as it is a low profile graphics card, however i would think about upgrading the power supply as 240 watts might be a struggle for the computer.

Compaq presario sr1830nx hdmi card

Most graphics cards nowadays have an HDMI port. How about just upgrading to a graphics card, or a better graphics card, that has one?

Graphics card has a Minimum requirement of 400 Watts.
This is power for the graphics card, AND the rest of the computer system. (Motherboard, Processor, Ram Memory, Optical drive/s, Computer case fan/s, etc)

Compaq Presario SR1830NX Desktop PC comes with a 300 Watt power supply, AND it is overrated.
Power is more like 60 to 70 percent of the stated maximum rated Wattage.

180 Watts to 210 Watts.

This example will work,

What graphics card is compatable for hp d530

I'm not going to go through a list for you, but I can tell that you don't have many options. The HP Compaq Business Desktop D530 uses a small form factor which means you don't have the same space as normal desktop users inside of your machine for the vast majority of display adapters. You would need at least a medium form factor for that.
The other problem is that your power supply is only 185W and can't supply the the amount of power needed for most desktop class display adapters.
The machine you are using wasn't designed to ever be used for gaming, and it shows. You would need to get a bigger computer case and higher watt (around 400 to 600 watt) power supply to support most desktop display adapters.

I have an ATI radeon X1300 Low Profile 256mg PCIe graphic card for my Dell Optplex 620 (SFF) computer. I'm wondering about the power draw. The computer has only a 240 watt power supply. Will this tax...

Your computer should be able to handle the graphics card with no problem.
The only issue that comes up is how many hard drives or CD Rom drives are attached to the system.
If everything is stock out-of-the-box, you are OK.
I hope that this helps.

I have a HP dc7600 SFF. Tried to Install 2 graphics cards no vid

The dc7600 SFF only comes equipped with a 240 watt power supply. I think this may be causing your problems.

I am currently looking for a graphics card for the same comp with the HIS ATI HD 4350 in mind, but the website states that a 300 watt power supply is recommended.
