Re: Pioneer DVR-111d dvd rw

Is this a new drive? If so, make sure that the media is put "label side up". You have a bad drive if this is not the case...accordianman

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

hope it helps

Phillips dvd-rw dvr 111d in dell dimension 3000 not recognise as dvd rom drive, that is play cd but not dvd

Close all the burning softwares and check if its working, if not try to flash the chipset for the drive, this would be very much available in the support site, u can download and run the same in the system.

Problem with DVD/CD-Rom drive

Right click on the device name and select properties and you'll open a window with access to enable the device or open the troubleshooter.
Sometimes if you disable, reboot and enable plug & play will reinstall the device.
If your drivers have been corrupted you may be able to roll them back and then update once the drives are working.
You might want to take a trip to windows update and see if it will detect the error and offer you a fix.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

If running XP:
First try uninstalling DVD/CD the device using the Device Manager.
Then restart PC and see if all goes well.

If no success go to ms knowledge base
And see what they recommend. I used their tool and that fixed my problem.
HTH :)

looking at the label on the top of the drive, jumper settings should be displayed on the bottom left along with a diagram on IDE position and relevance to power plug, or, looking at the back of the unit, it will be the second pair of pins in from the right (side furthest from the power plug)

see how you go

hmmm, this is unusual, it appears to be an incompatibility with the DVD software, as everything else seems to work may I suggest that you upgrade your DVD software for a later version.
