How Can I use my PBH-8W bluetooth earpiece as a regular headset?

Hi everyone!

I have got a PBH-8W bluetooth headset which works perfectly with my mobile phone (= windows mobile, HTC MDA touch) for phone calls. I can also use it with my notebook just the way you would use a regular headset. Now I would like to use my bluetooth headset exactly this way with my mobile device (to listen to music e.g.). Unfortunately all the regular sounds and music go with my mobile's speaker while only phone calls are transmitted to my bluetooth headset. Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks in advance!
Dominik

PS: With regard to technical prerequisites it should be no problem: when I press the button at my bluetooth headset to enable ''voice control'', for a period of some seconds, when I am supposed to give a voice command, the music is switched from my mobile's speaker to my headset. Unfortunately it then goes back to the mobile's speaker at the end of the recording time.

Home Depot pluming section. Size #36 O-ring will work. You need to use pliers to stretch it out before rolling it onto the earpiece but they work perfectly and will hold the wires better than the original clips. I show them in my repair video on youtube.

If there is a battery in the earpiece; is it safe? There is some controversy about the safety of holding a cell phone to one's ear for extended periods; that's why I wanted an ear piece.

Yes it is perfectly safe. The easiest way to identify whether a bluetooth set is malfunctioning or unsafe is - HEAT. Normally batteries which are about to die or devices malfunctioning will heat up quickly when you charge it.

So unless you dont feel abnormal heat.. they are perfectly safe. Try to remove the BT earpiece when not needed. Your ear canal needs natural air flow. Blocking it with a prolonged use of a BT device could heat up the ear canal. That's where the problem starts! :-)

My iPhone 3G does not discover my Motorola H500.

Try this link. It solved my issue www.scribd.com/doc/280088/motorola-h500-bluetooth-earpiece-manual. Basically what you need to do is power the earpiece off. Make sure that your IPhone is not currently attempting to discover bluetooth devices (i.e. Bluetooth is OFF). Hold the On button on your earpiece (it has the symbol of a phone on it) for 6-10 seconds. The light on the earpiece remains lit. Now your earpiece is in discovery mode. On your IPhone, go to Settings, General, Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth ON. Now your phone and your earpiece are both in discovery mode. When you see "Headset" listed, select it and enter the password "0000". Your IPhone is now paired with your H500 headset.

Earpiece slipped off the plantronics bluetooth, and i want to know if there is anything to help put it together again.

my plantronics 510 voyager did the same thing. try putting the earpiece back on to the main bluetooth and wrapping a small rubber band BETWEEN THE TWO. the object is to put some opposing pressure on the earpiece to force it to stay on. it'll work at least till you get anoter earpiece
