Question about Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera

1 Answer

My camera was dropped from less than 5 feet, and now the screen fails to turn on. All of the features still work, and I'm wondering if there is an easy fix to this, other than hiring someone.

Some cameras have a way to turn the display on and off. Check your manual.

When i turn my camera on, it seems fine, all buttons functional. When i take a photo, it flashes, but no photo will pop up in my screen. Instead the screen stays black, and then the battery starts to get...

FREE INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR CAMERA FIRST
The Stylus Tough-3000 can be submerged up to 10 feet underwater and incorporates four preset underwater scene modes as well as the ability to capture HD movies underwater. It can also withstand a five-foot drop and can still perform when the temperature dips well below freezing (14 degrees Fahrenheit; -10 degrees Celsius)
SOLUTION
1. Remove the SIM card , battery, and ensure that your camera is dry 2. reinstall the sim, battery, and if the battery has not been charged or is known to be used, please replace for a new one. 3. Start up your Camera and attempt to take a photo now without using any of the video features. If your still not registering your photos, return for continued assistance.

The problem is that u know the sony hdv xr500x when u put it on the picture is very dark we have tried it under light too put but the picture is still dark

Hello
When you look at your pictures are they dark, murky and hard to see? If you took pictures at a wedding, dance recital, theater performance or any indoor event and they came out dark, read on to learn why your pictures are dark, and how to fix this common camera problem.

Many people take pictures of indoor events, only to be unsatisfied with the final outcome of their photos. Although you may have bought the top of the line film or digital camera, there are a few limitations that you need to know about.
To correctly expose your pictures, you camera needs a lot of light. The compact point and shoot varieties adjust for this when you're outside during the daytime, and usually your pictures turn out fine, right? Well, then how come when you take indoor pictures, they sometimes come out too dark? There are two culprits; your zoom function and your flash.
Most compact cameras today offer a zoom function. When I used to work in retail photography sales, the first feature that consumers would ask for is zoom. People love to get close-up pictures without using their feet. Although zoom does bring your subject matter in closer, it also decreases the amount of light that can get into your camera. Essentially, the more you zoom, the less light your camera can receive, and your pictures will be darker.
So, if your taking pictures indoors, in a dark church, gym or other window-less room it is very difficult for your camera to get enough light to properly expose your pictures.
This is when most photographers decide to turn on their flash. The flash on your camera is a great tool to illuminate dark situations that are in close proximity to the camera. Most built-in flash units are designed to allow the light to travel 8-10 feet away in poor quality light and up to 15-20 feet in brighter situations.
What most camera users fail to realize is that although your zoom function is visually bringing you closer to the action, you flash cannot reach that far to illuminate the subject, and your pictures will be dark.
Hope it helps, if so do rate the solution

Kodak m893IS is not turning on....the camera was dropped by accident but it wasn't dropped from high it was only like 2 feet...after it was dropped it worked fine for the next 5 minutes but then it turned...

You may have bent the camera's lens housing, which will require professional repair, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corroded battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinsert them in the camera. This cleaning cures the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Pentex Optio W30 turns on but black screen for 5 secs & turns off

Try a new battery first, much less costly.

A fairly common problem with "underwater" cameras is that the sealing surfaces that are supposed to keep the water out fail to some degree due mostly to lack of cleanliness when the camera is closed up. It takes VERY LITTLE salt water inside a delicate electronic device to wreak all sorts of havoc.

Look carefully inside the camera for any sign of salt deposits or corrosion. If you see that, the camera is likely toast or at least in need of a repair job that likely will cost more than a newer camera.

Good luck!

FinePix A500 Fuji camera "focus error"

Check out this link: www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/fuji-finepix-z1_question.html?qid=4289
After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji Finepix A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!
