SOURCE: JVC KD AVX1 car stereo

standard problem would be antenna issue. Make positive that the connection in the rear of the unit has a connection. If it does, take it out, slip a single, small wire in the back of the smaller hole [typically 1 ft long]. Although this results in an impedance ,ismatch, it will allow you to see if the antenna is at fault. With the wire in the hole, scan through the channels. Fixed? Antenna issues. Not fixed? You have an electronic circuitry or setup problem. Try the 'local' and 'mono' switch with the real antenna still connected. Still no reception?

This becomes an electronic issue at this point which stems at the following concerns:
impedance circuitry [usually small, diode at output]
PLL IC faulty or no V

SOURCE: Help

Possible solution for some of the problems listed: Turn the clock upside down so that the label is readable in the upper left area. On the right side you will find a compartment which may have two "AA" batteries installed. These back up the setting when the clock is unplugged.

To reset the clock, you will have to BOTH remove the batteries AND unplug the AC power cord. Also, make sure the batteries are not dead.

Finally, although I cannot confirm this, there is an opening directly under the label (still looking at the bottom of the clock) which appears to be a "Reset" switch. A pointed object such as a ballpoint pen or toothpick will be needed to press this recessed button. Hope this helps. Mine is working just fine.

SOURCE: XM radio tunes to random station when turned on

There is an internal battery to hold the station and presets. It is probably no good. Either that or there is something very wrong with the unit.

Here is what I recommend. Call XM. Tell them your receiver is not longer functioning correctly and that you are thinking about canceling your service because you don't have a receiver. They will then offer you a receiver because they don't make much money on them, the make their money on the service.

that's how you get a new free satilite radio.
