Hi Brian You don't say what make camera.
Quite often you don't need anything to be installed. I have no camera software on my mac and everything just works fine.
Get a card reader from somewhere like maplin and plug that in to you computer - it shouldn't need a driver - then just stick your camera card into it. It should appear on the computer as a storage device.

I have a new MAC os x Snow Leopard 10.7 and the kodak easyshare software crashes when I attempt to transfer from the camera to the MAC. I've installed 10.6 from Kodak to MAC but this is not...

Consider NOT using the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Trying to install Olympus Digital wave recorder software on new Imac

Mac OS-X should recognize the camera without having to install software.  Plug the camera into the USB port and turn it on.  It should appear on the desktop as an external hard drive.  It may also start iPhoto up in import mode.  You can also import photos by selecting "Add to Library" from the drop down menu.

How to get started with the Samsung L730 digital photo camera

can i have the model of your camera?
usually the battery chamber for your camera is located on the bottom part and if this is the first time you'll charge it, you have to charge your battery for 8hours straight without unplugging it for you to achieve the maximum power of your battery

usually date/time screen pops out on the screen when it is the first time you turn it on..

regarding MAC, usually Mac computers automatically detects your camera so you don't need to install anything, you just need to connect your camera to your MAC using the USB cable..

Nikon Capture 3 and Mac OS X 10.2 Installer Issue

On Friday August 23, 2002 Apple released an updated version (Mac OS 10.2) to the Mac operating system. While we are NOT yet announcing compatibility information we do have the following information regarding one issue. Mac OS X has a built-in feature that scans items as they are installed to check for security issues. When Nikon Capture 3.0 is installed the dialog box below will display indicating a possible issue. If the user clicks "Fix and Use" the dialog will be dismissed and the application will run as expected. If the "Use" button is clicked the application will run fine untilthe Mac has been restarted at which time the same dialog will appear. If "Don't Use" is clicked Capture 3 can not be started. A future version of the Nikon Capture installer will prevent this. As compatibility and usage information is available I will update you on Nikon software and OS compatibility.
