Unplug the AC adapter and remove battery. Hold the power button down for 20-30 seconds. Put the battery back in and reconnect the AC adatpter. This is called a power cycle reset. you may have to do it a couple of times. If that doesn't work email me back and I'll try to assist you.

The adapter stopped charging my laptop due to a faulty wire, I bought a new adapter and now as soon as I plug in it starts for a second and turns back off. The charging light blink and it doesn't

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

When i charge my acer aspire the power button flashes

The DC jack in the laptop is showing early signs of intermittent issues, the jack is solded to the motherboard which sometimes breaks free over time, this is something that will eventually need to be addressed.

I PLUGGED IN MY LAPTOP ADAPTER AND THE PLUG LIGHT BLINKS BUT DOES NOT POWER UP. THE PLUG ICON ON LAPTOP BLINKS BUT LAPTOP WILL NOT BOOT UP.

You may try this; Turn OFF the laptop, remove the power sources (ac adapter and battery). Without power sources, hold power button 10 secs. Put back the power sources, and power ON the NB. If the laptop will not boot by doing this, take it to the nearest repair center to have it check for possible motherboard issue.

Laptop will not charge. when I plug my laptop in to the power cord no lights come on except for the light on the power supply cord goes dim and blinks. anyways help?? thanks, Krystina

Not knowing the age of your unit I can only say that the charger or the battery may be at fault. It is highly unlikely that it is your laptop. Thanks, Dana

Why when power lead is plugged in does my laptop just turn off, the charger charges battery when its off soon as turn it on with the charger still plugged in off it goes.

remove your power lead and battery and try just the power lead by itself

If the power light comes on then you need to try turning on the machine
if this starts up like normal then the battery is at fault
if it does not start and the power light comes on then the fault will be the power connection on the machine,
normally they are a part of the motherboard and this is an expensive excercise to replace

Hope this helps --- Misterdj

No power only plug light and battery light is on

Hello,

The lights are indicators of which operation does your laptop operates.
1. Power indicator is lighten to green meaning you are in the mode of charging your power.and if the power indicator turns to orange meaning you are now using battery power or the charging is finished.
2. Reading indicator is blinking meaning your laptop is currently processing but if the Reading indicator is not blinking and made a static light then your system is in hang up or not reading the processes.
3. Wireless indicator is blinking or lighten then you are in the a wireless mode connection. Also the bluetooth and Infrared connectivity.
So please check which light indicator is lighten when you on your laptop.

Thanks

Power light blinks

Try using a different AC power adapter. It sounds like the laptop is not getting the proper power or not getting any at all. Have you taken out the battery and tried to power the computer on while plugged in? Also, take a pen or something similar and see if the DC jack (place on the laptop where the power cord plugs in) moves or appears loose.

Power up question

Besides the amps and volts for the laptop, did the connector actually fit snug into the power connector. Only cause if it doesn't it will have intermittent connections, leading to a flashing lights. How did you plug the cable out of the laptop. not by hard yank, hopefully.

Let me know

Laptop crashes shortly after boot, power light rapidly blinks red.

Its late, so just to make sure I'm not brain-dead basically your laptop runs fine as long as its powered by the AC adaptor but dies fairly quickly while running via battery. This is very typical of a battery that will no longer hold a charge, not normally a user repairable item. It could also be that the charging electronics (in the laptop) isn't charging the battery, again not a typical user repair job. About your only option short of taking it to the repair shop is buying or borrowing a battery as a test.
