Door randomly opening by itself

Just installed a keypad for entry and now find garage door opening all by itself periodically. This did not happen before the keypad was installed. It is a Liftmaster door and the keypad was also purchased from Listmaster.

Maybe new keypad is shorting out from moisture or say a staple too deep into the wires?

Chamberlin Liftmaster keypad entry does not worek

It will only take a 4 digit program code. After you program the code, and then enter that code to open the door, hit an additional number on the keypad. Some need the additional digit to act like an 'enter' key.

I have no access to my garage i loss my remote and i have no doors to enter the garage. but i have a keypad outside the garage

If your opener has quit working and you have a vault garage, a hole will need to be drilled so a special tool can be used to reach and pull on the release rope. Calling for service is your best bet. After entry has been made and the opener repaired a mechanical release can be installed in case this happens again. The mechanical release is keyed for security purposes.

I have a 2265R 1/2 hp garage door opener, and I'm wanting to install a wireless keypad. Which keypad is compatible with my particular garage door?

You need to give the proper model number. It is on the end of the motor unit closest to the door. Also the manufacturer.

Sometimes the door opens randomly by itself. I haven't pressed any remote to make this happen. How can I prevent this from occurring?

This usually happens with either a bad wall control or the wiring to the control. Staples used to hold the wires sometimes cuts through the insulation and causes the door to open.

That keypad should work with your opener. I suspect the keypad is bad if you have other remotes that work. If not it could be the logic board.

Garage door opening by itself

Most likely you are receiving an outside wireless signal that is activating your garage door. A neighbor nearby could have an opener that matches your wireless frequency. I live near a military base where years ago the base installed some wireless equipment that caused my door to automatically open. My suggestion would be to change the frequency code. Open up your wireless remote button. On most openers there will be a number of small rocker switches which are marked ON & OFF. Using a pen set these switches to a different configuration and then do the same at the wireless receiver which is located next to the overhead garage door motor. Be sure the opener and receiver's switches are set to the same configuration. This should take care of your problem.

Access Master Garage Door Opener opens by itself

The most common cause of this is a bad wall control or the wiring going to it. The wall control goes bad from use and the wiring sometimes has intermittent short caused by the staples the installer used.
