Muteki 7.2 I turn it on and it read 'USB FAIL'

It is such a hassle when your USB port doesn't seem to be working or when it does not read what's connected to your computer.
You might have a speaker, microphone, keyboard, mouse, webcam, digital camera, joystick or printer that are connected via a USB port.
You are sure you have the device properly connected, and you are confident all gadgets are working well, but still, you can't seem to make it work.
Initially, you need to plug and unplug the device to see if the connection is loose.
But if it still does not work, there are simple steps to fix your USB port.

Shut down the computer, then turn it back on to make sure the device (speaker, microphone, keyboard, mouse, webcam, joystick or printer) is properly connected.
Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties."

Click the tab that says "Hardware."
Choose "Device Manger."
Look for "Universal Serial Bus Controller" and click the plus sign before it.
Check if anything has a yellow question mark.
Having a yellow question mark means Windows has detected a problem.

Find your initial installer CD for your PC.
Place it in the CD drive, double click the USB drive and click "update device," and the driver will automatically be updated.

W 7
First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:
Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.
In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.

Sandisk is not being recognized on my computer

SOLUTION 1 - Verify if minimum system requirement is met.
SanDisk card readers support Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2000 SP4.

For MAC users, see
Troubleshooting USB device on MAC

SOLUTION 2 - Verify the reader's status under Device Manager.

STEP 1 - Connect the reader to the PC

NOTE: It is recommended that you plug your card reader to the back USB port on your PC to ensure that there is enough power from the USB port for the card reader to be detected properly.

STEP 2 - Check under Device Manager
1. Right-click My Computer.
2. Select Manage.
3. On the left pane, click Device Manager.

NOTE: The card reader will appear in two places: Disk Drives and Universal Serial Bus controls as USB Mass Storage. If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) next to the device, try to refresh the drivers.

STEP 3 - Refresh the drivers
1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
2. On the top menu, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes.

STEP 4 - Verify if the reader is detected
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Look for the card reader under Devices with removable storage.

SOLUTION 3 - Try other USB ports.
A yellow exclamation point (!) under Device Manager usually means that the device is not receiving enough power. If the reader is not receiving ample amount of power from the USB port, it may not function properly.

SOLUTION 4 - Change the drive letters

NOTE: The SDDR-89 reader should show 4 drive letters under My Computer.

There are different Ways to troubleshoot Your Problem

1. Verify if minimum operating system requirements are met.

2. Try other USB ports
3. Check status of the Cruzer under Device Manager
4. Connect the Cruzer to the PC

If you receive a "USB Device Not Recognized" error on the computer, the flash drive is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

Connect external hard disk IBM travel star 80GB USB port 2

Unless it's windows 98 you don't need a driver. If your computer can't see it, it's probably broken. Try plugging it in to another computer and see if it can see it

Sub woofer is connected to the back of the pc via usb and speakers lights are on but no sound apart from built in pc speaker system

You need to check your USB Controllers in device manager.
For you to be able to go to device manger click start>control panel> device manager for vista ( system>hardware tab>device manager button for winxp). You need to scroll down to check he usb root controllers. make sure there are no yellow exclamation points or question marks. If there is an exclamation point. it means that the driver is not properly loading. Try to right click on the exclamation mark then uninstall. unplug the usb cable then plug it in on other usb port. The light on the external speakers are normal because it is plugged in to a powered usb port.
USBs are know to be plug and play but not all. Most of the computer components specially not the input devices ( mouse, keyboard) needs software drivers to properly work. The reason why the other devices work is because their drivers are already found in the driver database of windows. If it happens that there is a cd that came with the speaer, you need to install it first before plugging it in.

My pc won't detect my printer, my printer is brother dcp 150-c

have you connected the printer's USB port to your CPU? If not, then do so. If after doing it, still your PC don't detect your printer, make sure you have a functional USB port. To check it, try using a USB Flash drive if it works with your PC. If it won't, you might have to "Enable" your USB at your BIOS.

My usb port being not detected

Try downloading usb 2.0 drivers from microsoft.

Also look for drivers for your usb device..

check in device manager under usb devices and see if there is any yellow exclamation points next to any devices.

If that doesn't work your only option is to get a PCMCIA card that does USB 2.0
