This program worked fine in my previous version but not since the upgrade. It will install but crashes when attempting to open a business card saved from the program previously.

When loading Print Perfect Gold into my new computer (windows 8)I get an error message saying this is a 16 bit program and my laptop is 64 bit. Are there any compatibility fixes available?

Yes, but it's very technical and "iffy" to boot.

You you can get VMware or DosBox. Each of them create a "virtual" machine in your Windows. In that virtual machine you can load the necessary operating system (Dos 6.22, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, etc...) and then once you have that running, load your program. The "iffy" part is that it's not 100% fool proof but most programs work.

On the other hand, an upgrade to your program is available I believe. Even the 32bit version should work in Windows 8.

BTW, the 64bit to which you refer may reference the data bus width of the CPU (hardware 64bit) or the compile width of Windows itself (software 64bit). Most software is still 32bit (usually marked with x86 somewhere in the files/description).

I have a software discs i us ein a windows 95 Operating stystem.. My newere PC Windows VISTA willnot allow MasterCook - Suite Version 4.0 install- Error interger 0

Too many differences between Vista and Win 95 to run it straight. Insert the disk and when the auto run comes up tell it to display contents in Explorer instead. From there find the setup file and right click it in the explorer window then select the properties for that file. From that window you should find a tab with an option to run the program in Compatibility Mode select that and then select Windows 95 or Windows 98 and you maybe able to run the program. Sometimes it is just too far out and you will have to find an upgraded version. Another option would be to check the publishers website for a patch or fix for using the original program.

How can i run my DOP on my Windows7 64bit

If a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues you have to right click on the executable file that will start the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and then select the Windows version you know the program worked on before. This way the program will be run as it would run under Windows XP or Vista, 32 bit or 64 bit.
You can find more about this Compatibility issue on http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

You might be able to get it to work by running the compatibility wizard. The Microsoft.com website explains how to run older programs in Vista in compatibility mode. Check out this link, for step by step, detailed instructions:

You must set this program to install and run in "Compatibility Mode" for windows 95.
Right click on the installer setup exe and choose run in compatibility mode and check for Win '95. Do the same for the main EXE of the program too, also make sure you run BOTH as "Administrator"

Can not determine if this program will run on Windows Vista 64bit

Sounds like Compatibility Mode may help.

To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu.
Select the Compatibility tab:
You can choose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility.
Probably the most useful setting to start off with would be to disable the visual themes and desktop composition, if you can't get things working. If you are trying to run a video game, you will often need to choose "Run this program as an administrator". You'll have to play around with it, but most likely you can get your application working this way.

Good Luck
