The water heater was taken out to tile the floor and put back in 2 days later. It has power but is not heating the water. Can you help?

The most common reason a pilot light will not stay lit is a bad thermocouple. How old is the water heater? If the pilot light will light, but then go out when you release the safety button, that is a sure sign the thermocouple is bad. You can buy a replacement thermocouple at your local home improvement store. There is a small chance that the control valve has gone bad, but that is highly unlikely.

You don't need to find the same exact model to replace your water heater, any 50 gallon water heater will do unless you have a brand specification that you like to stick with.
I have the same problem about every 3-4 months. Mine is also about 10 or 11. It is usually the sediment at the bottom that causes this. Once the plumber flushes it, it works again. My problem is that I dont know how he did it and the vavle is at the floor level. I am never home when it is repaired. Regular maintenance (flushing) is how you avoid this from reoccurring. That is, if that is the cause of your issue.

Check that serial number.
Rheem is first two digits= month and next two digits= year, which means 1990.
