Question about Car Audio Receivers

Radio won't turn on.

I worked on my truck and had a alternater fuse blow. The truck wouldn't run at all. Then when I fixed the fuse and started the truck back up the radio wouldn't work at all. There is a sticker on the window that says if radio is disconnected it will be disabled. I bought this truck with radio alreday in it. The only thing the radio will do is run a message across the screen that says call 800 7790 1099. I tried that, trust me, this number doesn't fix radios. Can someone give me some suggestions to try. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Radio won't turn on.

When all 3 wires are cut at the same time, it sends current through the ground wired and shorts out the circuit board in the radio. nothing you can do except buy another one.

BLAUPUNKT radio mute and volume haywire

yea the got a short somewhere. Horn fuse might or might not work something with the radio. I would say start with the horn. The horn is a controlled short sometimes shorts it self out. Open your steering wheel and work from there. For your radio look at all the fuses that you know work the radio and go from there. What kinda car is it year things like that would help because if it older wires, fuses, fusible links things like that go bad over the years. Especially if you run a lot of power through the wires that was made for that kinda power like upgraded speakers, headunit (radio) amps things like that. Older cars and trucks are make with cheap radio wires. hope this helps

Radio for my 2000 Ford Taurus won't work and I

Did you check all of your fuses. Your radio requires two power sources to work. One is constant to control the memory and the other is switched so the radio turns off with the key.

The cd player is not able to save eny thing like radio channals and every time when i start the car engin the cd make auto eject it mean that i have a problem with saving can u help me about this

you must have a digital volt meter and to find this out .
1. remove radio
2. take the volt meter and turn it onto dc voltage
3 take the black test lead and put it on ground for the radio it will be black find in harness on back of radio .
4 take the red test lead and find the yellow wire this is constant power must have 12 volt on wire doesnt matter if the car is running or off this wire is from battery it gives the radio power to save station presets and the clock and return the cd to were it left off from when radio turned off.

if no power at yellow wire go to fuse panel and use your digital voltmeter to check fuses for a blow fuse . take the meter turn it on meter to dc voltage and the take black test lead and find a good ground (clean piece of metal and then the red test lead start touching testing the fuses.

(turn your car ignition switch to run but dont start car) why some circuit in car only power up when you have car ignition on ....)

on the fuse there is the amp rating in the dead center on either side of the rating is the blads of the fuse expose to test the fuse touch the red test lead to the left and see if you get 12 volts. then test the right side of the fuse to see if you get 12 volts if not fuse is blown . do this to all the fuses untile you find a blow fuse you could just pull one fuse at a time untile you find blow fuse. if you do this make sure right amp fuse get back to the right spot in fuse pannel. if not you could have a fire maybe or melt something in car if a circuit fails and goes to blow fuse and fuse is too big and fuse doesnt blow ....

My Kenwood DPX-4020 suddenly went "dead". No power whatsoever on the led's and nothing happens when i push any/all of the buttons. I have it reset many times, checked the wiring's and fuses at...

1st you need to check the fuse in the fuse panel in your car to see for some reason the radio fuse is not blown . if is change it . if not take your radio out and see if fuses for radio is blow on back of radio then some have a fuse on the red wire check fuse there too. if nothing buy a digital volt meter and start checking your ground wire to see if it broke . take volt meter turn on dc volts put black test lead on your radio ground then take the red test lead and and start touching the yellow wire to see if you get a 12 volts on meter if you get 12 volts ground is good ... then check the red wire turn on the ignition switch and put the red test lead on red wire and see if you get 12volts if nothing

either you have bad ground or you have a fuse blow in car some were .. if you can't figure it out call a local mecp certified shop and have them look at it ....

its possible that the radio is just died and you need to buy a new one electronics dont last forever when you use them daily ...

Have replaced 30amp fuses 4 times but each time i replace & turn the ignition it just blows

The fuses are rated in both mah (milli-amp hours) and in volts.

Make sure both values match up to what you need. Just because the amps match, doesn't mean the volts do also. It's very important.

JVC KD-G200 won't power up any more.

Have you checked the fuse-box to make sure that you didn't blow the fuse for the radio? Also try removing the radio and checking the wiring to ensure that it is tight. There is also a fuse on the back of most radios to check!!

2003 Ford Focus Blaupunkt Cd Player issue!!!!

I hav an 03 and it exhibited the same problems; on off on off nothing works. I discovered this repair 2 days ago and it works perfectly and I am one happy camper.

1. Start by pulling the main fuse for the radio (if you already haven't)
2. Re insert the fuse and turn the radio on (nevermind the on off sequence). Insert a music CD, it will take one.
3. Pull the fuse again, count to five and re insert fuse.
4. When the CD starts to play, use the menus to get down to the factory default settings and ask it to reset to factory.
5. And you are now working again. Or you should be. It basically is a processor and it operates just like your home PC whn it needs a reload. It searchs to the default drive which is the CD player.

Good Luck everyone!

Blowin fuses

it is always best to have fuse on battery lead but as long as the leads are definately going through the fuse panel then you should have no problem but if you have the fuse and it blows then their is deffinately something wrong.
The fuse on the battert leads is a backup as long as the wires are running through main fuse panel the reason for extra fuse is because the main fuse works other things running off it not just the one for radio so the fuse on the battery lead is their so that if something wrong with the unti then that fuse blows and only that 1 unit wont work but if main fuse blows other things might not work so its always best to have inline fuse so that only the 1 unit stops working incase of problem.
so its not vital you have one but it usefull so that you know where the problem is coming from and saves time tracking down fault
