It could be broken wire on the headphone jack plug or it could the headphone aren't working. Maybe some bad wire in the headphone cable, faulty plugs.

I am trying to hook up to my copmputer for recordings and have horrible feedback?

Salutations welove2scuba,

I would first ask how you are connecting the computer, it would be best to use a "Line In" jack to your computer if you have one. Using the microphone jack could cause issues as it is a powered connection and could be causing your feedback.

A good way to connect a computer to a receiver would be to treat it as if it were a cassette recorder. Most receivers will have a "Play (out)" and "Rec (in)" for a cassette deck, or DVD recorder and in some cases VCR's. If you connect the "Rec (in)" to the "Line In" jack, this should give you a clean signal with out any additional amplification to avoid interference.

Go Ahead. Use Us.
