SB5100 Docsis 2.0 Upgrade from Docsis 1.1

My local cable company recently upgraded their system to Docsis 2.0 but my sb5100 is at Docsis 1.1. They advised me that I need to change my modem that has the new Docsis since I've had this modem for over a year. Of course, they will charge me a whopping $100 for the new modem.

I would like to know if I can upgrade the firmware from 1.1 to 2.0 on my modem.

It is best to remove the dial up portions because it will help eliminate confusion within your system as to which connection to use. You will be much happier once you get hooked up with broadband....good luck.
