Check and see if the points are gapped, no gap or too wide(not closing) make sure the point set is grounded properly and the connector tab from the points to the terminal is insulated. if you dont find it here then you have a bad condensor. look closely where the terminal comes out of the distributor and make sure the insulator is intact. i have seen people putiing in points loose them and also cracks from the years have led them to rot and when the terminal is turned they just turn to dust. i found one from just 8n's for mine and put it in he has naa parts as well. the trick is the points have to open and close and not be gronded to the hull of the dist. the only ground on the points should be where the screws hold them in the other side (breaking side should not ground) . good luck and hope this helps

almost forgot if the points are open and you have see a spark at the - terminal on the coil one going to dist. then you have a ground problem. there is also a resistor on some early naa's mounted to the back side of the dashbord that can open and cause problems too. 1953 had the resistor and they changed this later in the years, sorry i don't remember the year they changed out .

Does it have spark at the plugs? Does it have fuel in the carburetor? Is the valve timing OK and the chain hasn't failed?

Ford naa 6v

you will get much more than 6v at the plugs when it is working more like 16000 v. Check that the condenser is working and has not failed as it is vital to make the coil work properly.

Install a new selenoid & I hook up the battery, And the tractor want to start??? I think the wireing is hook up Okay. Don

Hey don,

The key switch supplies power to the coil, it has nothing to do with the cranking circit. When you press the start button it supplies power to the solinoid, that in turn activates the starter motor. You can crank the engine even if you dont have power to the coil. Which is what I think you have happening. On the coil it has two small wire under two small nuts with a big wire in the middle going to the distributor. The two small wires are marked with a + and -, The + side should have 12v with the key turned on and 0v with it in the off position. The - Negitive side goes to the points. Check the points for burned, stuck, worn out lob on cam, if you have no spark. If you have spark, you need to address the fuel, Try spraying carburetor cleaner ( not either) into the carburetor to see if it fires then quits, this proves you have a fuel issue.

Make sure your battery is fully charged, and that the ground is a good one.

Hope this helps

Jubilee naa tractor will not start

The dust cover has to line up with the oiler on the distribeter. Caution check to make sure you dont have any cracks inthe cap and be sure to put the little clip back on before you install the rotoer . All else being right, it should start.

The best place online to find info about the jubilee is at and post your question there in the forums. They were able to tell me how to change the front oil seal on my jubillee. As i don't have a front end loader on mine, I think that the guys at would have the exprience and knowledge that you are looking for. And it is a free service much like fixya but they are only interested in ford n tractors.
