Question about DISH Network 301 DTV Receiver
My VIP 211 DISH HD receiver when I try to lock
some channels for example USA HD instead of
looking in SAT 110 it goes to 61.5.This happens
day and or night. I sometimes get lucky and are
able to lock the channel, but if I move to another
channel the signal is lost again.Any suggestions
will be greatly appreciated.Thanks!
The HD feed comes in on 61.5 for a majority of stations most often locals come off 119 or 110. The USA hd comes off of 61.5 transponder 19.If you press menu 611 on your dish remote and manuever the highlight to the satellite and go to 61.5 and then change the transponder to 19 you will probably have a poor signal from 0 -39. Typically this can be resolved by having the dish re-peaked but sometimes foilage may be the cause. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Hi jesterr9 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network Executive Office. When you receiver is showing internal communication and keeps resetting the can be a couple different things making this happen. It may not have the current software downloaded as well it may have a bad smartcard inside as well. The current software as of 1/12/11 for the VIP 211 is L5.61. To find the current software press the MENU button two times.

Hello, my name is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network. I'm sorry about any inconvenience, but the ViP211 is not a DVR receiver. If you have an external hard drive, you can activate the feature on the 211 to allow you to record movies to the external hard drive. It is a one time $40 to activate the external hard drive feature. Also, we can always look at getting a DVR receiver installed to replace the 211. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. To answer your question, yes the ViP211 will work with a dish 500. It will receive the standard channels as you asked, but if you wish to get HD, the dish on your home will need to be upgraded. Hope this helps!

Hi orly227217 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network customer service. And when the receiver is not accepting commands from the remote we need to re-program the remote to the receiver. What we do first is go to the VIP 211 and select the "system info" button and then we want to press the "menu" button. Then you will see the remote address in the white box at the bottom of the screen, then press and release sat button 1 time then press the record button 1 time. After that you will have seen the remote address change.
