Question about Apple Final Cut Express HD for Mac

1 Answer

1. autosave won't work 2. having saved a project, FCE won't reopen it. If I try "open recent", it says it's "already open" - but it isn't. No time line appears, nor canvas window.

In FCE, Window/Arrange/Standard

Does that help?

Make sure the project is open when you do it.

I have windows 8.1 desktop. Microsoft works is supposed to autosave my documents every 10 mins. How do I get access to the autosave files?

If you are in Microsoft works already then you are already seeing the saved work. It will only save documents every 10 minutes you are working on. If the program crashes, then you will still have the file, the last time it saved it, when you re-open the file. Since all other files have not been altered they are safe and don't need to be saved.

You can also adjust the saving time options, making it shorter or longer for the time a file needs auto-saving.

Autocad file cannot be opened, how can I open it?

Use the autosave files to recover your work
1. Go to Tools --> Options
2. Inside Options go to the "Files" Tab (far left)
3. Inside the files tab go to: "Automatic Save File Location" and see where the autosave files are stored. (mine where stored at C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp)
4. Then access that folder and try to find a file with the same file name but different extension. (The autosave files should have a either a .BAK or a .SV$ extension) (if you can't see the folder, you need to go to Tools --> folder Options --> View --> and Make sure "show hidden files and folders" is SELECTED) .
5. Check the "date modified" of those files, if the date and time makes sense according to when you had the last file crshes, there is a good chance that those files contain the information you need, so there is no need to redraw everything.
6. Change the file extension of the file you think it might be the good one from .bak or .sv$ to .dwg (to be able to change the file extension you need to be able to see it. To do that, on any folder go to Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> and make sure that "Hide extensions for known file types" is UNCHECKED)
7. Use third party software in case the guide about wasnt effective

Is ther a way to either un freeze or save a project once it's frozen in magix pro editor? i just spent 3 hours on somthing and didnt save my work and now its frozen...due tomorrow. help

Unfortunately, no.

However, if you had autosave enabled, you should have a backup available here: File > Load Backup project.

Hopefully that helps!

My AutoRecoverysave .asd now instead of Word of a file that was autosaved when my computer unexpectedly rebooted...and I apparently clicked no when asked if I wanted to recover/save it -- will not open in...

Recuva -

This software will recover your lost data with no cost... But you should have patience while recovering data as DEEP SCAN takes half an hour or two to fully recover your files.

I would install recuva on a usb stick. The primary danger to deleted files is OVERWRITING. Any subsequent use can write over the deleted file and even if seemingly recovered, it may not open as it has been corrupted.

That said, you might first like to try the following, which might avoid a chance of overwriting:

I am using Magix Video Easy HD. I was busy

sometimes the file just doesn't get saved as it may be to be big.
But to resolve this:
save it;
go to the location you've saved it in;
check if it's there;
open it( if you want).

You may try looking it up using Search.

I can't find my auto saved document

Step 1:
What sort of document IE: word , excell , office ......

Microsoft Word's AutoRecover feature periodically saves your document while you're working in it, even if you forget to save it manually. If you close the document accidentally, Word closes improperly or you unthinkingly write over a document or change something important, this function can save you from losing all your work. Although Word doesn't AutoSave constantly, it might have automatically saved your lost document more recently than you manually saved it. Word 2010 makes this rescue process even easier than earlier versions of Word; it stores all recently AutoSaved versions of your documents under the "File" tab.

Open the document for which you lost information. For example, perhaps you were working in a document that you had previously saved, but then Word closed and you lost your most recent work. Click the "File" tab. Click on the most recently AutoSaved version of the document under the Versions heading, next to the "Manage Versions" icon. An Untitled, Unsaved Document b> Open Microsoft Word. Even if you never saved the document, and you can't find the file on your computer because you never gave it a name, Word might have saved a version of it. Click the "File" tab. Click "Recent" on the left column of the File screen. Click the "Manage Versions" icon at the bottom of the middle column. On the drop-down menu, click "Recover Unsaved Documents." Word presents an Open dialog box, taking you directly to the Unsaved Files folder that Word automatically created. Click on the document that you want to open, then click "Open" at the bottom of the dialog box. Click the "Save As" button on the yellow bar that appears above the document, below the Ribbon; in the pop-up menu, give your document a name, choose its storage location on your computer and click "Save."

I have TurboCAD Designer 2D for Mac V.5 December. Last night I opened my old project, made some changes and saved it. Now when I try to open that revised file I saved last night, I get error message:...

If autosaved is enabled in your CAD, then most likely you can recover a n sv$ file of it saved in a temp folders. You can rename this file and change the extension from .sv$ to .dwg.

This link may help you find the folder where autosaved CAD file is stored

This link might help you also.

Good Luck!

Cannot find c:\msoffice\excel\LIBRARY\AUTOSAVE.XLA

Something happened to your autosave add-in.
You don't specify Office version, so I must be vague: you have to find an "Add-ins" option in the Excel menu, and disable the Autosave Add-in.
If you want the autosave function, you'll have to reinstall Office.
