I have three options to play dvd's through my custom built Media Centre box..... using Media Centre software . Dvd Player software..or Cyber link power Dvd software. Randomly, these will play video but not play sound. or one will play sound but the others will not. Then the sound will fail from any of the media centre options. Switching the media centre off will bring back the sound to the computer but the randon playing of sound from Dvd's remain. The sound card is on board an Acus motherboard..SoundMAX integrated digital HD AUDIO card. Can anyone help with this problem, please

Spent hours on the web. Seems this problem came with the Media Centre version in 05 but I cannot yert find a solution on the many sites I have visited. I find it difficult to understand that this problem has been about for nearly three years and yet it still happens.

Hi Nickluck
Depending on the OS and Drivers, DirectX version I presume 9c, check your AverMedia TV card, in other slot PCI, and reinstall drivers, if required. Should work.
but, drivers, too for the Video Card, if Nvidia? download the latest.
Good Luck

Purchased a new Sony Bravia TV KDL32R420B. Picture perfect but no sound from Right speaker. Please help!!

Check whether the balance control is settings. Go to the audio menu to both TV and DVD player; and make sure that it is set to Centre position; to both the devices. Still there is no audio with one channel, check it with an other know good disc. Still you can't get sound from one channel, the audio output section to the TV circuit should be checked. Contact any service technician.
Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

Memory/processor problems with AverMedia quickplay

No motion picture, movie, games, etc do have this problem, because the LCD or TFTP screen has very low refresh rate so while playing games OR watching dvd movies on a laptop will give jerky movements which as you have mentioned that the is no syncronization. The refresh rate on laptop screens are 40 60 Hz whereas in CRT Monitors we get 70 90 Hz, Sorry nothing can be done....sodeep
