Question about Amana ALG331RAW Gas Dryer
I have amana dryer LG8319W2; pilot light is out. I cleaned out the dust and lint that was obvious. I seem to remember lighting this before by simply holding one of those longer lighters to the area to ignite the gas, but wanted to make sure that is what I should do and I won't present a problem for fire. Is it as simple as that; it's been quite a few years since I've had this problem with this dryer....
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

SOURCE: my gas dryer's igniter glows,
im sure the theory would be the same as the whirlpool, in the whirlpool, they have this flame sensor, if it senses the heat from the igniter, the it would open the solenoid valve to release the gas to ignite and hold it open as long as there is flame present.
it could be a defective flame sensor.

There is a small resetable fuse athe back under the top cover being held by a plate that has a screw holding it in place. To test just connect the wires together. I see this all the time on those modeles.
