HTC Touch Diamond will vibrate, but won't ring on incoming calls
I've checked all the settings - with ring and vibrate selected I only get vibrate, with any of the ring options without vibrate I get nothing except the flashing light. When I'm in the settings if I test the ringtone it plays perfectly, and alarm alerts also sound, so there is nothing wrong with the sound hardware.
I'm pretty sure the ring worked OK when I first got the phone. I went back to my old phone for a bit, and since re-installing the SIM card in the HTC, the ring hasn't worked.
Re: HTC Touch Diamond will vibrate, but won't ring on...
I just had this problem - and I have been messing with it for an hour.... but I finally fixed it - Try this - touch the speaker symbol on top (The system status window should pop-up) then touch the speaker symbol again (Now you should have two tabs - one for system and one for ring) Touch ring and slide it up. This worked for me.

I use an HTC Touch. Hopefully the menu should be the same in Touch HD as per the Touch. Try this..
Start -> Settings -> in the Personal tab, click Notifications -> u might see 2 tabs -> select Notifications tab again -> select an Event (here it is incoming SMS) -> below you'll see the Vibrate option -> tick on it to enable it -> Select OK to save.
Hope this helps, If so, rate me.. thanks - billa..
Hi. First thing, you can check your sound settings, by tapping Star Menu, then Settings, then Sounds & Notifications, and through that page, you can check if your incoming call alert is on (just sound, or vibrate and sound), you can try to change the ringtone to see if your current ringtone is damaged or not. (Since other sounds are alright, there shouldn't be any problem in your hardware or in the sound volume levels) Hope this helps.
:) Sometimes happens to me also. I faced a similar problem before, I think one of the installed programs on your device does it, I couldn't remember the name of the application now but whenever I launch it, my phone sound goes to minimum, Just to let you know. Have a nice day.
The instruction given in the user's guide are WRONG, which infuriated me. To perform a hard reset, hold down the power button and turn the phone off. Then, while holding volume down and the center button, turn the phone back on. It will give you the hard reset prompt immediately. Follow the instructions. I hope I saved you the stress I went through.
