I put a new control board in my York today and it was a different/newer board. I immediately had the 9 code thrown at me for grounding and polarity issue. All I had to do was switch the 2 gray wires on the transformer. The gray wires go the the 12 pin connector. The new board is wired differently.

Saved my bacon so I appreciate everyone who shared here. 3 years in a row I had furnace issues during BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. Fuses initially, the more often, then to can't turn it on without blowing fuses. Blower motor seemed ok, new motor installed - fuse popping quit....but our control board was going and went too. About 20 years old.

You'll definitely have to flip your wires on the transformer to get past error code of 9 flashes and burner ignition if you left wires in the factory positions. Mine were blue/black.

Source 1 (maybe other after markets too!?) should really put the transposed wire issue in the documentation, in bold, on the front page. They also should not package a worthless mounting bracket with it. Did not fit properly at all. Be prepared to use the old bracket... I bored out the bottom existing holes, drilled 2 new for the shorter board, fits beautifully with minimal fuss.

And lastly, saw mentions the source 1 control board is hard to replace. Aside from the transformer wire polarity issue, everything was easy to wire up. Just take copious pictures of your old board with wires attached before replacement.

Changing the wires is the way to go. Mine were black and blue. They were located on the back side of the transformer. Thank you johnsanford0!!!! Your a life saver!!!!

Bryant plus 80 furnace no fan/ operation , yellow constant flashing light code , power to furnace was rerouted during remodel and since then furnace stopped working. Any suggestions ?

You need to have/ know the "fault code" chart for that specific furnace. Count the number of flashes and refer to chart. Look on the inside of the furnace blower door or other panel. Also look up on internet and print it off. If the furnace was allowed to run during the remodel it voids the warranty automatically. Read the installation manual.
Try resetting the electronic board by turning the power off then back on.

York furnace 7 flashes

If the light flashes red 7 times, the furnace is not sensing flame. Check for a flame sensing rod (small steel rod in the path of the main burner flame). If you can see it, shut off the furnace, and clean the rod with a rag soaked in vinegar. Turn the furnace back on and see if this cures yyour fault. Make sure you turn the power off to the furnace and then back on as this will reset the circuit board.

I have had to replace the hot surface ignitor every year (its 4 years old and I have replaced the hot surface ignitor 3 times) on my furnace--is this a problem with all these furnaces or did I get a lemon?

I would check the grounding from the circuit board to cabinet, the ground coming in to the power of the furnace as well as the ground lug in your panel box. These furnaces are polarity specific and the wrong polarity or a loose ground will effect the longevity of the ignitor. Always buy a spare.

York high effenciency furnace not firing all the time

has anyone worked on this furnace because the error would indicate that the positive 120 volt and the neg 120 volt is swapped , these units will also do this when the ground wire to the furnace or gas valve or furnace or @ the panel is lose , corroded , or missing , the gnd must be present to open valve , I am aware that ac is is not usually polarity sensitive but in this case it most certainly is ...have seen many time and know it to be true
