Steps are included in these instructions...

First of all, unplug your washer. You will need to remove the console in order to get to the lid switch. The washer may have release tabs under the console at each front corner. Simply slide a putty knife straight in from the front at each corner and push in while lifting up. You should feel the release tabs push in and the console will pop up. If not equipped with this type of console, you may have a console that has removable end caps. They can be removed by gently prying up on the top of them from the rear on each side. You may have to use a small screwdriver for this. The caps should pop right off. Once removed, you will need to loosen a screw under each cap. Once you have the console loosened, carefully lift it up and lay it back over the rear panel of the washer in its resting position. Be careful not to damage the small plastic hinges that hold it in place. Now you will need to perform the following steps:

1. Under the console you will find the lid switch connector. Unplug the switch from the connector.

2. There will be two brass colored clips. You will need to remove these to remove the machine casing. Place a flat blade screwdriver straight down into the opening on top of the washer and into the groove of the clip. Push the screwdriver away from you while holding into the groove and the clip will release.

3. Open the lid of the washer and place your hand under the front rim of the opening (DO NOT grab the wash tub). Now pull the case from the frame by lifting from the back first.

You do not have to remove it all the way from the frame, just enough to gain access to the switch. All there is to the switch is a couple of screws holding it in and a ground wire. It's a pretty easy repair job. Some models will have the switch located on the right-hand side of the lid rim opening, while other models will have the switch located on the left-hand side near the lid hinge.

Once you've completed your switch installation, make sure you get the case back on the frame correctly by following these steps:

1. While looking down through the lid opening, place the front lip of the machine case UNDER the washer frame and start leaning it back onto the frame. There are four small cleats that must fit into four slots on the case or the washer will vibrate. Make sure the frame is seated properly, lean forward from the front of the washer, grasp both sides of the rear panel and pull towards the case. The rear panel should be seated and flush with the casing before inserting the retaining clips.

2. Insert the brass-colored clips into the slot on the washer rear panel first, and then push straight down into the opening on the top of the washer with some force. If you have the case seated correctly, the clips will snap back in.

3. Make sure you plug the connector from the console back into the lid switch receptacle BEFORE you reassemble the console. This is easy to forget.

You most likely have had the main control board blow on your Electrolux washing machine.

It is quite common for the main boards to blow on these machines. The main board is located on top of the machine towards the front right hand corner.

You need to remove the top panel via two screws on the back. Then slide and lift to remove top cover.
You will notice a white plastic casing fitted on the right hand side towards the front. This plastic cover holds the main PCB and is vertically fitted on a cross beam and has many wires going into it.

Get a quote for the part as they are expensive. Best to get a qualified repairer if you are going to replace this part, as there may be a problem elsewhere in your machine, causing the board to blow.
Electrical storms and power-surges also cause the boards to blow. Other time an electical short circuit or leaking water on electical components can cause this. Another item to watch out for are cocroaches. They can nest in the boards and short things out.

I think there is a wire between the drum & casing on my hotpoint WF860P which is causing a scraping sound when spinning. How do I get to it to remove it? Thanks

You will have to remove the top cover of the machine. Unplug the machine from the wall socket and look at the back if the machine cover. There are some screws there that you must remove to slide the cover off towards the front. This will give you access to the inside top of the machine.

I have been using Olympus Master 2.03 for a long time. I have the problem of it shutting down usually in edit mode. Is this problem fixed in OM2.2?

Remove the two screws on the right side of the camera (right as camera is facing away from you.)

Remove the screw from the top right side of the camera.

Remove two screws from left side of camera.

Remove the screw from the top left side of the camera.

Remove the screw that is just to the right of the viewfinder.

Pop up the flash.

Lift the top section of the casing off, with the following in mind... There are two spots where the casing interlocks: 1. Rear to the right of the viewfinder -- press in on that area to release it from the lower casing. 2. Front directly under the ME in MEGAPIXEL; press in on that as well.

Remove screw from rear side of tripod mount. (leave the front one)

CAREFULLY remove the screw from the viewfinder adjustment. The adjustment is very delicate and has two tiny plastic tabs that will shear off quite easily -- trust me because I broke mine. If you break yours, be sure to adjust it to the most convenient position (i.e. not macro) before reassembling.

REMOVE THE FLASH CARD!

At thie point, no screws impede the removal of the rear case. The flash card ejector switch, however, is a minor obstacle. It seems best to have it slid all the way to the left as you work the rear cover off (from right to left worked for me.)

Now follow the green ribbon cable from the Cancel/OK/4way switch up to the right of the zoom. Just to the right of the zoom, under that cable, is a screw hole that is more than likely EMPTY. It's not supposed to be. Find the tiny screw that goes in that hole. Either get rid of it, (not vital, IMHO) or if you want to put it back...

To replace the screw:

Remove the two screws holding the top LCD and power switch on.

Lift the rear of that assembly up to disengage its connector, and slide it back. Two LEDs protrude down from the front of it into the front casing, so be careful not to bend them.

Underneath is the socket for the ribbon for the OK/Cancel/4way. Slide it out. Now you have access to the screw hole.

Replace the screw.

Re-insert the ribbon. Make sure it is in all the way and straight.

Tile the top control board back into place, pressing it down into its socket.

At this point I inserted a battery and tested to make sure the rear and top controls still functioned. You may want to play it safe and not do this while all of the guts are exposed, but the risk is probably minimal. Do it at your own risk though.

Replace the two screws for the top control assembly.

Temporarily press the flash down and make sure the white switch at its rear is in the right place and won't get smashed when you reassemble!

Seat the compactflash ejector slide switch onto the bottom of the camera, making sure its points left, and that its two adjacent tabs straddle the metal tab on the CF slot. It's easiest to reassemble when it is slid left, so slide it there.

Replace the rear cover, tilting it on from left to right.

Insert a CF card and make sure the release switch works.

Make sure the hinge pin for the CF cover hasn't slid out, and that the cover snaps into place.

Replace its 2 long silver screws on right side of the rear cover.

Replace two shorter silver screws on left side of the rear cover.

Replace the longer silver tripod mount screw.

VERY CAREFULLY insert the viewfinder adjustment into the viewfinder, making sure its delicate tabs are in the slots of the viewfinder.
Reinstall the long black screw that holds it in place.
(If you break this, make sure to adjust the viewfinder to an optimal (infinity?) position before replacing the back cover.)

Replace the top cover while holding the flash release switch back.
Note the two points from earlier that snap together.

Test the flash release.

Replace the two screws on either side of the top cover and the one in the rear. These are all the same size.

I have a 2006 yz125, I rode it once and the clutch give up on me. ive removed the casing and the lever inside the casing where the clutch cable attaches has become very loose and there is neither any...

It is an pretty easy fix. Remove the right case cover and then loosen or remove the bolts that are compressing the clutch springs. Now slide the push rod 1/4" into the engine from the left side. Remount the lever assembly into the casing and put the casing back on. Now re-tighten the springs and put the right case cover back on. Re-fill with oil. All fixed.

I can't remove cover to Compaq Presario to add memory.

Turn the computer around so you are looking at the back. There is a white plastic latch on the right side near the top. Press the latch down and slide the right side (actually the machine's left, but you're looking at it from behind, remember?) panel back toward you. Then you can lift it off the machine. There may be a screw in the top of the panel above the latch, so check for that if the panel won't slide. Compaq doesn't put that screw in at the factory, but someone else may have. Once the side cover is off you will have clear access to the system board.

I have seen a reference to a solution posted by john_in_erie on how to install a new gasket on ge front loading washing machine WSXH208A but i am unable to find this particular post - could someone please...

I've been looking too. And finally found it! john_in_erie

Rating: 98%, 12 votes Replacing gasket is fairly simple - need 2 people. UNPLUG FIRST - 1. Remove the plastic cover on top of machine that is mounted to back of control panel. 2. remove dispenser - push down on tab at back and it will slide all the way out. 3. Remove lower front cover by removing 3 screws holding it on bottom. 4. Remove 3 screws holding top panel on back of machine and slide cover back approximately 1 inch and lift off. 5. Remove the 3 screws that hold the control panel on - note these are different type of screw so keep track of which screw goes where - one of the screws is next to dispenser opening. Once this is done you can reach in to machine and disengage locking tab on right side under "washer temp" - have someone hold this part aside if you do not want to disconnect the cables. 6. Remove spring loaded wire securing door seal to front cover. 7. Remove the the 4 screws holding the front cover on. This item is a bit heavy so be careful. Disconnect the three door latch wire harness and place this aside. 8. On the right side of the gasket you will find the clamp screw that holds the seal to the drum - loosen this screw almost all the way and remove this wire clamp. carefully remove the two tube connections and remove the gasket completely. Take note how these were installed before removing. Now you can carefully clean the gasket seats on the drown and door and replace the gasket and reverse the steps to put the machine together. While you have the covers off it would make sense to remove and clean the pump strainer mounted on the lower cross support - this can be messy with lots of water coming out so go slowly and have plenty of towels and a shallow pan to catch the water with. HOPE this helps.

Replacing door hine on hotpoint washing machine

Its a ***** of a design. Mine is a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 WD62. If you cant get the backing plate then get someone to tilt the machine right back and you can put your hand under to get it out. Then take the top off the machine(3 screws at the back). Then slide your soap tray right out,(put it to one side) you will then see 4 screws (Which hold in the other tray that holds the soap tray) take these out, you will then need to remove this white plastic tray to get your hand down the machine to reach the place were the backing plate goes. Once u have taken the screws out slide the soap tray holder to the left or right (can't remember) it will then come loose. You will then need to slide it back to lift it out the way (No need to take the pipes off the back of it) you may need to push the whole drum back at the same time you are pushing back the soap holder (Be gentle but it will come out). The holder should then lift up out the way, you can now get your hand down to hold the back plate on whilst you get a helper to affix the door. Make sure backing plate is on the right way, the screws will only go in one way (Check which way b4 u put it down into place). Then go backwards on all steps to put machine back together. This sounds like a load of **** but it worked for me and took about 15 minutes. Good luck!!

Ds lite

To remove the top external casing first you have to separate the top part from the bottom part of the DS by dissasembling the bottom part and unplugging the top screen ribbon and the white and black wires, then slide these cables through the hinge hole to separate the parts.

Then you must take out the 4 screws under the cover pads in the screen side, and slide the screen side from the external side so the screen side should move like 5mm from the external side and then you would be able to separate both and see the screen, mic and speakers.
