Lights are correctly lit and selected. Happened once before, then cleared up after 2 days or about 10 calls for Cubes. This time I am going on a week, asking for cubes 3x daily, and getting only crushed. I took tray out, cleaned all visible ice from front where the chopper is, re-installed with no improvement. Opening Freezer Door I can manually stick my finger up into tray chute and push lever to side to get cubes to drop out. This is the only way.

your refrig has a solenoid that opens and closes a flapper in the bucket to bypass the ice crushers look on the bottom of the ice container and there is a brass rod that is bent at the end. if yo will find where the end of that rod inserts into the dispenser motor inside the freezer there is a saddle that has most likely frozen in the up position. you can use a hair dryer to warm the area up and pull the saddle back to the down position. its kind of hard to tell you with out pics but hopefully you get an idea of wht i'm trying to describe..

,first if you still have ice buildup get your hair dryer and heat it up and melt it,then remove the front off the icemaker,you have a cube size dial,turn it down and it will reduce the amount of water that goes into the icemaker,if that does no work go on ebay and pickup a univeral icemaker for around $50,hope this helped

You may not need to replace the solenoid. If you hear the hum, and not a loud click and don't see then rod move, it may be frozen with ice. Test it manually with your hand, it should be free to move up and down. If not, then it is frozen with ice. Remove the ice dispenser and let it thaw and dry out. You should then be able to move to rod and it will work fine, at least until it freezes again. Anyone know how to prevent it from freezing up? Its a continual problem for me

jeff, at one time the ice bin was removed and there is a rod on the bottom of the bin remove the bin and you'll see an opening where the arm will fin the square plastic looking assy is probally stuck in the up position pull it down with you finger and reinstall the bin the it should work
