I would first try to see whether the new mouse works with old receiver.
You press button on receiver, then rapidly press the correponding "button" on mouse (usually located under the mouse, you must use the tip of a pen to press on it) I have been able to use different logitech mouses with the same receiver.
However, if you old and new mice use different communication protocols then you will have to use both receivers...

The mouse and the keyboard are not working

Make sure the receiver is properly connected to the computer
Check if the LED on the receiver is ON
Check if the batteries are new and they are working on another battery operated device.
Check the polarity of the Battery.
First press the connect button on the Receiver then hold the connect button on the Keyboard and mouse while the receiver light is blinking.
This should make your keyboard and mouse work.

Please get back for any other assistance in this regards.

Thank you for choosing Fixya

Im in an office with three computers that all have wireless keyboards. One of the keyboards keeps typing letters on another computer. How do I stop the signals from being mixed?

I have had a similar problem, when I wanted to run one Microsoft wireless mouse next to my TV and another Microsoft wireless mouse next to the PC in the same room. Both wireless receivers were picking up keystrokes from the keyboard, so the computer thought all keys were being hit twice.

You didn't mention your brand of wireless keyboard, but for microsoft products you push a button on top of the receiver, and then a button on the bottom of the keyboard or mouse to "pair" them. Repeat this step for the computers that are interfering with each other to solve your problem.

Find these steps laid out for you at the microsoft website here:

Problem with LOGITECH S 510 cordless keyboard and mouse..

Hello,

I have this same keyboard/mouse set and love/hate it when the batteries die. After you change the batteies, power on your pc, press & hold the connect button on the bottem of the keyboard first and then the connect button on the transmitter. Release them and wait for a few seconds. Repeat the same steps for the mouse.

When I have connection issue with this keyboard after new batteries, I have found most of the time the problem is the connection to the pc and/or batteries in wrong. Good Luck

Have you tried pressing the NumLock-key?

Logitech S510 mouse will not turn on

I am assuming since you need batteries that the mouse is cordless. If so you normaly have to sync the mouse with the receiver. If the keyborad and mouse came as a package it will only have one receiver. There should be corresponding sync buttons for these devices.

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
