Re: Booting Problem

Insert the recovery disc, included with your laptop when you unpacked it, reboot the laptop and follow the instruction.

If your laptop came with a recovery partition, restart it and hit F8 function key while it is booting up. This should bring up a menu, select the recovery option.

Note:This will reset to factory setting - All your data will be lost.

My vaio turns on but wont boot up model is a vgnnr17g

Try booting it up to safe mode. Just keep tapping F8 to go to the options where you can select safe mode. After that, use your keyboard to select safe mode. If it goes to safe mode, restore it to a date when your computer was still working fine.

To do the system restore, do the following:

Start or pearl button (click) > Accessories > system tools > system restore .

If you can't boot via F8, then use the Operating System's Disc that came with your computer when you bought it. Turn on your computer with the disc inside it. Follow the onscreen instructions and do a repair in the operating system.

I hope this helps.

Notebook only goes to f2 or f12 wont boot

If you can't get passed the F2, F12 then maybe the keys are disabled.. Windows does this sometimes. To release just hit "F".. if that doesn't do the trick then probably drive is corrupt..
You will need to restore using restore disc if you have one.

Digitizer Pro Exception Access Violation Exception code c0000005, Exception flags 0, Exception address 01697E72, Number Parameters 2,Start up Address 004011A0, offset 01296CD2, Digitizer pro was running...

Turn on your PC in safe mode by Pressing F8 on the keyboard immediately the PC is turned on or at start up.

A booting option will come up, choose safe mode and press enter on your key board.

Wait a while for it to boot up. After booting perform system restore.

System restore helps to back date your system to the time when the Digitizer pro was working perfectly. YOu can back date the system to like 1 week ago.

Follow below procedures to perform the system restore;
  • Start => All Programs => Accessories => System Tools => and click the System Restore. System restore will run and here you should see the Welcome System Restore page appear. Click Restore my computer button to an early time if it's not already selected. Click next to continue the steps.
  • There is on your laptop screen a Restore Point page appear, you can select it and then click the most recent system checkpoint it, click a restore point list. After you click the Next button, System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will create. Click OK.
Your computer will be restarted after the restore and that would be all.

Try the Digitizer pro again, after the system restore is complete.

Good luck.

My laptop gets stuck on welcome screen, I don't know how to system restore/recovery!

May have to contact the manufacturer for a recovery/restore disc or the installation discs for the operating system (i.e. windows 7, vista, or xp for instance).

You'll have to boot from these discs, which are nowadays not included with the computer as most problems can be resolved by going to the restore/recovery console after booting to windows (which you can't do).

Good luck on this repair.

I have a Toshiba laptop that is approximately 1 1/2 years old. Well anyways, I turns on but it will not boot up. Any ideas?

Make sure there is no disc in the dvd drive or usb device plugged in.
Try booting into safe mode (F8 while booting) and try a system restore
It may be that its just your MBR (boot file) that is damaged, if you google fix mbr, you may be able to get it working again. (may need a windows disc)
You may also have an option of system recovery (factory restore) from the F8 menu or other boot menu depending on the make of the laptop

Can someone provide me online recovery disk of gateway 7330gz

You must set the boot sequence of the system to cd/dvd rom first which will enable the system to look for booting files in the disc in the first instance.

In your case your system is booting direct from hard disk. Boot sequence can be changed ib the bios setup of your system.

In some laptop models the restore files can be accessed by pressing function keys while system starting.

Advent notebook not booting.

ahh..yess...that can happen...try it with the restore disc, and press F2 while booting up. This will take you to the settings and bios, where you can disable the hard drive, and make the cd the boot you know of this area in the computer?
