Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P52 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Cybershot 3.2 seems to work fine until you push button to take photo

Strange things just started happening. Everything is normal until you depress the button for picture. In camera mode, the initial depression gives the auto focus, but then you can't take a photo. It does nothing. In night time or Movie/mpeg mode you can't depress button at all. Have had this camera for over 3 years and never a problem.

It turns on but won't take a picture when you push the button! I downloaded the pictures on the card because I was told maybe it wouldn't worked due to a full card. It did have 2300+ photos, but only 77...

The shutter button has a little nib on its end that can break off with age. This tiny piece of plastic extension is needed to fully depress the shutter switch inside the camera. There's a fellow on ebay that sells these with instructions (see this link). But sometimes you can get a better deal by buying a broken A520 with other issues, and just cannabalizing this part.

Sony cybershot pictures fracture when stored on computer

So you mean that when the photos were transferred to the computer, they were fine and now after few months the images on computer are corrupt .. Right?
If that is the matter then I feel that its not a problem with the camera .. It should be some (strange) problem with the storage device on which you copied the photos to.
May I look at a sample image please?

Sony cybershot DSC W30 buttons fail

take the battery out and let the camera sit for an hour or two, take out the memory card, try to view photos on computer, if it does not work, you will have to format the card and start over. Some times when the format on the card is bad, the camera will not work properly. I have two cybershots myself.

Cannon G7 need help

Had the same problem a few months ago. There was a high pitchedwhisltle and I think the screen said "lens fault.turn off camera" or something similar.Bought a G9 to replace as the 7 was out of guarantee but sent the 9 back to the e-bay reseller as it was obviously secondhand with grit around the lens ring and the viewfinder.Ebay never again!.So 3 months ago ago I tried the G7 again with a fresh charged battery before I consigned the camera to the loft.I noticed that each time i switched on the whistle and message was there but the lens extended slightly further each timeso I kept rebooting until the lens was fully extended.Turned the camera off and on again and everything was back to normal. It seems that this may be Canons protocol when a camera goes back. Its been absolutely fine until today. It wont boot up at all.I have tried 2 fresh charged batteries and its dead.Any ideas anyone?

Menu Problem

Did you try calling Canon tech support or returning to retailer if the camera is really not functioning properly this soon after purchase, I'd try returning it once all troubleshooting issues have not resolved the issue.

Hope this helps!

My Sony Cybershot DSC-S45

the button is offset inside the camera, there is a little piece of plastic that seems to loose its elasticity and will not depress the actual on/off switch inside.
