When I sync the outlook calendar to my iphone, one of two things happens. 1. If I put an all day event in outlook, it syncs to the iphone a day earlier (both otlook & iphone are on same date &...

Make sure time-zone is the same for both iPhone and the computer.

On iPhone setting > Mail,Contacts,Calendars setting > Time Zone Support, make sure you are choosing the city where you are in.

Otherwise, make sure you have updated the iTunes to 7.5 or later.

Update to iTunes 7.5 or later to resolve this issue. If you're not able to update, continue reading for other options to resolve the issue.
Each Outlook calendar event has an internal property known as "Message Class." When some Outlook plug-ins are installed (such as Live Search Maps), the setting for the Message Class property can change from its default of "IPM.Appointment" to something else. iPhone and iPod touch are only able sync calendar events with the Message Class set to "IPM.Appointment," therefore any calendar events created after installing certain Outlook plugins may no longer sync.
To verify this, examine the property of the Calendar event items for MS Outlook and see if the Message Class shows something other than "IPM.Appointment" in any of the calendar events. To view the Message Class property for your Outlook Calendar events, add the Message Class field as one of the columns in the Current View using these steps:
  1. Open Outlook Calendar on the computer.
  2. Choose View > Current View > Events.
  3. For Windows Vista, choose View > Current View > Customize Current View.
For Windows XP, choose View > Arrange By > Current View > Customize Current View.
  4. Click the Fields button and choose All Appointment fields from the pop-up menu in the "Select available fields from" section.
  5. In the "Available Fields" column, select "Message Class" and click the Add button.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK.
Now verify that all your calendar events are showing "IPM.Appointment" for the Message Class column. If you have calendar events showing a different value other than "IPM.Appointment" you will need to perform the following steps to fix the issue.
  1. Uninstall any Outlook plugins such as Live Search Maps or other plugins which change the default Message Class "IPM.Appointment" to some other value. Once the plugins have been removed, verify if those calendar events revert back to the Message Class of "IPM.Appointment" so that you can sync the calendar data to iPhone/iPod touch. If you are able to sync, try adding the plugins back one at a time and verify that you are still able to sync.
  2. If removing the Outlook plugins does not change the Message Class value for the calendar events, manually change the Message Class value of those calendar events to "IPM.Appointment." For more information on Message Class and how to change the Message Class fields/value, refer to Microsoft's KB article 201087 How to update existing items in an Outlook folder to use a new custom form
Good luck!

I have read all the msg boards and am still not able to sync my iphone 3gs to outlook. does it have anthing to do with running Vista? I used to work then notice that it changed

Vista shouldn't have anything to do with it, unless your using a 3rd party software to connect it.
First thing, Update iphone to latest version.
Update outlook 2007 using windows update.
The resent update to the iphone firmware and itunes fixed the problemof things not moving from iphone back to outlook.
BEFORE the fix for the iphone , to get an event to show up back in outlook , you would need to make it a recurring event on the iphone starting and ending on the one day ...
to test if thts the problem you have , make a new calendar event in your phone and make it recurring, starting and ending on the same day.
sync, then check outlook.
Before this update to get things working I needed to do the following...
1) backup your outlook .PST file. 2) rename and move the existing pst file, and create a new one.. 3)import the contacts 4) import calender events, (not recurring ones) 5)sync.

Lost my recurring events and now cannot save new calendar events

Boot your PC in safe mode and try to do a roll-back (system restore) on any date prior to the one the problem has surfaced. If this resolves the problem, chances are either `Outlook' might have gone corrupted or you might have some malicious stuff (virus, trojans etc.) on your PC.

Do you have all of the latest Outlook updates and service packs installed? Click on Start and go up to either Microsoft or Windows Update (whichever shows) and click on it. It will find the updates you need. Some of the issues addressed in the service packs and updates have to do with calendar issues similar to yours.

Outlook 2003

I'm certain you're aware that "inconsistent" isn't a good thing. In cases such as the one you present, the only sensible option is for one to "cut their losses and run." Your client is well advised to completely remove the offending entries and rebuild the calendar manually. Not a fun answer, to be sure. As you noted, the problem will migrate to OL 07, possibly further compounding the problem. Unfortunately, to apply a common fix, one must face problems that have something in common regarding their creation and nature.

Good luck.

Sync iphone to outlook

Only way i could get any sync was first strangling the cat, wrapping its limp body round my neck, then getting two pieces of celery of equal length.Soaking these overnight in a mixture of lemon juice and urine.Drink the juice at 2 minutes past twelve on a full moon, insert the celery where the sun dont shine and whilst hopping on one footand circling the p.c with the iphone balancing on my forehead.First few times no joy then bingo synched right off.

hope this helps

Error Message - "Unsupported Repeat Pattern"

I think the message means what it says. You will have to setup these events manually as individuals to get this event to synch. The message is literally telling you that this repitition style is supported by Outlook but not by the Calendar in your handheld. Another way to go might be to use Chapura PocketMirror conduits instead. It may be more forgiving and be able to deal with this event type. This will cost you however to find out.
