My computer does not recognise my camera when I plug it into my computer to download pictures? It use to bring up a window that I could select an option to download all photos from the camera to the "My Pictures" folder under "My Documents" and then it would usually delete all the photos from the camera and only safe them on my computer.

Plug the camera and look into My computer to see if it recognize it there .. probably the prompt for an action was disabled from prop.and now its set to take no action ..anyway in the last case it has to see it as a removable storage device or as a mass storage device ..and there to be able to get your pictures.....this assuming that you never had to use a driver for it ..and always seen it automatically ..if you use to have a driver installed and some programs ..reinstall them from the original CD ...that came with the camera ..if you don't have 'em .let me know and I will look for the driver at least to be able to see the camera and prompt you for an action ...but ...if the device never had a driver need just use any picture manager program ..like ACDsee ..cause it has a feature for importing from device ...

I have windows 7 and canon power shot a640 How do I download pictures to computer

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Kodak m1033 how do i upload pictures to computor? cannot find answer in small manual that came with the camera

Here are the steps to upload your pictures to your computer from your camera:

1. Plug in the the smaller end of the USB cable which came with the camera to the connection port of your camera which is located at the bottom.

2. Turn on the camera before plugging the other end of the cable to the USB port of your computer.
3. Upon plugging the USB cable to the computer the camera will show a selection: choose Mass Storage by pressing the menu button.

4. Wait for the computer to recognize your camera.
5. Click on My Computer on your desktop and that will bring you to the page of the Hard Drives. That window should show a new drive labeled as E./ or F./
6. Double click on that letter and that will bring you to your cameras storage which contains the pictures saved.
7. Just select the pictures and drag and drop it to a specific folder you want on your computer.

Hope that helps. Thanks.

I want to download pictures from my camara

If you have the cable to connect the camera to the pc -plug it in and windows will recognise it. On the camera, it will ask you whether you want to use it as a mass storage device. Agree to that and windows will assign your camera a drive letter. Just drag your pics to your computer (desktop or My pictures). Done.
Otherwise, if you have a card reader on your PC -insert the memory card into that and Windows will again recognise it and give it a drive letter.

My computer doesn't recognise my camera.

Hi There, If you are using Windows xp or vista, you probably don't need special drivers, the computer should recognize what you are trying to do. Just in case, check your owners manual for computer/download info. Also check your usb input or try another usb input to make sure they are working. You could also try a friends computer to eliminate trouble with your own. If all else fails, you could purchase a usb multi- card reader to down load your pics, around $20.00.
