Try turning down the brightness on the monitor, sometimes this will fix the issue, if not the problem is in the inverter board and needs a professional to assess it further.
my BenQ FP71G 17 in goes on after hundreds of times pushing on off switch and when it's on it does not go off, I have checked the on/off switch which is working oke and when the moniter is on the auto adjust message (brightness and contrast)pops up frequently and the screen adjusts itself.
radioactivet, A qualified technician will need to investigate the units "switch-mode-power-supply" for typical "faults" and locate the faulty (bad) component(s) that ma be causing monitor to act this way. "Noise" on the +5 volt DC rail going to the vga/lcd interface (processor) may be why display is acting "strange" with uncalled for pop-up's appearing!! That's the very first place I would investigate when dealing with ANY COLD-CATHODE-FLUORESCENT-LAMP, BACK-LIT LCD DISPLAY. 12fixlouie
I have a Benq that was continually auto adjusting, I used electronic cleaner spray on all the controls (a good spray) and now there is no problem, suspect the controls were sticking, especially the on/off and the auto adjust button
I would recommend you to bring it back and get a new one, if its till
under warranty. You cannot fix the problem on the panel buttons it
looks something to do with the components in the circuit bord.
