Camera not recognised Win XP

Camera not recognised by Win XP

    Thanks for your prompt answer.
Ofcourse I installed the driver prior to the attempt to connect the camera. The screen of the camera shows USB but Win XP reports "The device can no longer be recognised" This suggests that it worked before, but that's not the case.
The camera is new and the USB-cable also.
    Thanks again!

Hi..

Mostly of this problem required a CD driver Once you are attach the camera but it will not recognized you need to install the CD driver. If your Cd driver are installed but the same things happen try to use other slot and use also another USB cable.

Good luck!

Even if the camera is new we can not assure that the new cable are work properly, "right" because there is some of products have factory defect. Try to use another cable, you may use also another USB port of your computer.

I have 500GB transcend Portabale hard drive but not working, need installation driver or some thing other ?

External hard drives connected to the USB port do not require any additional drivers for WIN XP, Vista or Win 7. If it is not being recognised at all then the USB converter inside the box is faulty. If the PC recognises the USB converter but not the hard drive then the hard drive may be faulty.

For the camera to be 'recognised' by Windows, you need an USB port with a correct driver installed (should be automatically in Win XP SP2 and later, Vista, Win7, ...)
Then you need a 'good' (tested) USB cable to connect to the PC.
The OS should detect a new USB device after connection of the camera AT the MOMENT the camera is switched ON ...

Problem in need a driver for my camera its a apex digitrex dsc 3500z

No software required
The Win computer should recognise the camera as an extra drive or even put up the Camara/Scammer Wizard.
The only possible exception to this is if the camera in question is using internal memort
Here you will have yo consult your manual or the menus to discover what to set.

It sounds like the drive letter that the camera wants is already assigned to another device. The link below will help you change the drive letter.

Will not function with Windows Vista

You do not need any software for the camera to be recognised. As you have discovered it can complicate things. Remove the software. Vista like XP before it will recognise the camera via the Camera/Scanner Wizard.
