You need to adjust the tention on you thread bobbin and on the needle....also, check to see if the needle is touching the plate or the foot.

I have had this problems too. Most of the time it is just a simple adjustment and cleaning.

Good Luck

I keep getting error E6 on Brothers CS 6000i- I cleaned the thread several times and when I try to restart sewing it happens again. I've removed the bobbin and re-threaded and it keep jammin and beeping....

The motor locked up because the thread is tangled.
Solution:
Remove the tangled thread before continuing the operation.
Clean the bobbin case to remove the tangled thread.
After cleaning the bobbin case, insert the bobbin case properly.
If the needle is bent or broken, replace the needle.
Then, thread the upper thread properly, and continue the operation.

I am using my new brother CS-60001 sewing machine for the first time and I can't stop the bobbin thread from tangling. I feel the machine is threaded correctly, the bobbin thread is tightly wound and...

Hi. You "feel" that the machine is threaded correctly? You should probably completely pull the thread out and start over, making certain that it is threaded correctly. Once that is done, double check to make sure the thread is pulled all the way into the tension discs. Make sure also that you have lowered the presser foot. Is the bobbin inserted in it's case correctly? Every aspect is critical to proper function. You may also want to revue your manual.

I have put the bobbin in my machine, pulled it up with the top thread satisfactorily, and when I attempt to sew the bobbin thread gets all tangled.

You top threading is not right, totally unthread your machine, insert a new needle (flat side facing away), now rethread paying close attention that your thread is not tangled and is in each guide. Make sure that your presser foot is up when rethreading, very important. Now pull the top thread and see if it runs smoothly, then lower the presser foot, pull thread again, it should barely move. This seats your thread in the tension discs. Good luck

I place the fabric on the machine, lower the foot and apply pressure to the foot peddle, when the machine begins to sew fabric is pulled down and the lower thread tangles, the machine make a crunching...

This is easily solved. Before you start sewing make sure your upper and lower threads are long enough for you to hold before lowering the presser foot. If these threads are too short they both get carried down into the bobbin along with the fabric and cause a big tangled mess. Always hold your threads at the back of your work with your left hand then lower your pressure foot and don't release the threads untill you have taken several stitches. Keep holding these threads during backstitching at the beggining of a seam too. Works like magic.

I have had a singer prelude 8280 for a year now with no problems. now all the sudden the thread is catching in the bobbin casing. The thread on top looks normal, but when you turn over the fabric...

It is in your top threading, try this test, rethread, now with the presser foot up, pull the top thread, it should feed smoothly, now lower the presser foot, it should barely move. Sometimes this seats the thread in the tension discs. Also, make sure that your needle is fresh.

Jammed thread.

To address my needle thread tangling (horribly) in the bobbin compartment, I rethreaded the bobbin. I cleaned the bobbin and the feeder feet, I changed the bobbin and the thread. I changed the tension on the needle thread and the bobbin thread. NO FIX! Then, I changed the needle - the problem was fixed instantly. I sewed awhile and then put the original needle back in. No problem. I think perhaps that the problem is being caused by the needle getting out of alignment somehow during sewing. If you are having the same issue, try it. It can't hurt!
