Had to do job twice, tried to start car after first installation, car would not start, engine turned over about every 4 seconds, the engine weakly tried to catch. Decided to open engine up again and timing was off all marks ,reset timing to marks again and triple checked went to start engine but result is the same. It looks like engine jumped time after first chain install,is it possible that valves are now bent, Car turns over and rumbles about every 3 to 4 seconds while cranking but will not start.

Check the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor. If either of these are defective the engine will not start or may start intermittenly.

I have a similar problem. I just replaced the water pump and now the POS wont start. Like it is not getting fuel>

dealing with timing chains its harder then timing belts i mean if you have the right tools it can be done but it can be pretty difficult when dealing with the timing , and the chance of a bent valves it depends if you have a 2.0L DOHC there is definatelly a pretty good chance that u might have valve or piston damage, if you have 2.0 SOHC u wont have damage at all

You can do a compression test, compression should be at least around 128 psi with no more then 20 psi difference between cylinders.
