Question about LG Flatron L1710M 17" LCD Monitor

HELP! when i switch the computer on the screen doesnt go on and my PC starts beeping. Ive disconnected and re-connected all of the cables but the problem persists. I URGENTLY NEED HELP! PLEASE GUYS!

    When i start up my computer, the screen doesn't respond (and yes it is turned on) sometimes it works after waiting a very long time but today it's been almost 4 hours and i can hear a high beeping sound coming from the screens volume boxes. I have no picture and I (re)connected all cables. i already tried rebooting the pc but it just wont work

    the screen is connected to a normal home PC tower... I have no idea what the problem is... any help?

While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove new hardware If any new HARDWARE has been recently added to the computer, remove that hardware to make sure it is not the cause of your issue. If after removing the new hardware your computer works it's likely the computer is either not compatible with the new hardware or a system setting needs to be changed to work with the new hardware device. Remove any disks or USB devices Remove any disks, CD's, DVD's that are in the computer and if any USB devices (Ipods, drives, phones, etc) are connected disconnect all of them as well. Ive got a long continual beep and it emits orange light from the front and back of the computer how am i to fix it?


Turn the computer off.
Unplug the power cable.
Remove the video card.
Remove the RAM.
Re-insert the video-card, ensuring that it is "seated" properly.
Do NOT re-install the RAM, just yet.
Connect the power cable.
Turn the computer on.
If you get a different "beep", the lack of RAM is the problem.
If you get the same "beep", the video-card is the problem.
Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the power-cable.
Re-install one stick of RAM (two if it is RAMBUS/RDRAM).
Reconnect the power-cable.
Turn the computer on.
If it beeps "normally", then the not-yet-installed RAM is the problem.
If it still "long-beeps", turn the computer off, disconnect the power-cable, and remove the RAM, and insert the "other" stick/pair of RAM.
Reconnect and start it up.

If still a problem, change the video-card.

PC show the message and hang and black screen .


You are going to have to start with basic troubleshooting first.

TAKE notes as to where cables were etc. (digital camera would be useful here)

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the on-board)
Disconnect all drives

Power u the computer and make sure you can at least get into the BIOS.

If you hear any beeps these can indicate where the fault is.

Power up the PC and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.
Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it

If its not the PSU and your fans are working it may suggest a problem with either the motherboard or CPU

Pc has power but nothing shows on screen. motherboard doesnt beep once like it used to when turned on but green light is on indicating its ok.

Remove the ram and check, is the motherboard beeps or not..

it should beep as long beeps....and should continue beeping after serveral times until u switch off it...
then reconnect the ram after swiching off power...

remove the data cables of hdd and cd/dvd and then try to switch it on...
if it works fine then reconnect it properly...

Fault can be in Ram or data cables perhaps...

It seems your PC is having some kind of hardware problem.
It can be a loose connection or so. If you have little bit of experience in opening the PC, try yourself. Also check listen to the type of beep it produces.
If there is 2 beeps its RAM problem or if it beeps continuasly, its power supply problem.
If you doubt RAM, have a new one and check.
It it does'nt help, take it to the nearest service tech. It does'nt cost that much

The repeating single beep with a small pause (actually 3 Beeps a Pause) clearly indicates problems with RAM .Replace it ,your problem will be solved . As for connecting the 12 volt 4 pin connector all mobos are designed to sense the presence of this 12 volts and ONLY THEN TURN ON.

If the PC does not to any beep then usually is a problem with the motherboard.

If the PC does a certain number of beeps on startup, then tell me how many beeps to troubleshoot the problem.

If the computer does single beep on startup as usual, then may be the monitor, monitor cable or graphic adapter.

Simple thing that you can do it yourself is disconnecting computer power cable from power outlet for 15 -12 mins. ac connect it back, this will solve troubles caused by electrostatic charges.
Also check video cable connections to monitor.
If you have another computer also test the monitor on other computer.
If the main unit is not booting (CD drives and internal fans often start up even if the Motherboard is blown). Then yo need to open the pc and test component inside.
If you have practice in fixing hardware you can start removing RAM modules and testing them, then buy a tester board for the MB and do a diagnostic test on motherboard.
Other options are taking PC to service or getting a new PC.
If the PC is still under guarantee, then contact Acer to validate your guarantee and get the machine to an authorised service centre.
