My p-2 wont read anything but one disk game-gta-3.isnt that old,or beaten,been left on a few times,,discs are in good shape,can i clean it.or ?i got a brand new game today,,wont do nothin,gta-5.,,,dvd vids either help/ THANKS, [email protected] also,,the dude at the game store said i probaly need to replace it..but its only 6 mos old to me,,,used when i got it,.,but in good shape

If you have a nearby friend who also has the x box,I would try your games on their system first.It sounds kind of strange to need a laser eye.Usually a laser eye works or does not work.For it to not read a couple but work with a couple others is strange.If you have disassembled it before,you may need to clean the laser eye which is the only time that stuff should really be used and no other time other than person has disassembled themselves.If this is the case,your games will all work on your friends(or gamestop).If only a couple work on theirs too,then it is the games.If they all work on your friends,and you haven't taken yours apart,then it needs a laser eye.Did I confuse you???I am lol. Do you have this problem only with GTA? If it only does this with GTA it means the disk is compromised, then you need to get it polished or replaced. If it does this with all games this means your lens is no good.

Hi, it sounds like your laser either needs cleaning or is shot. First try cleaning the laser by blowing some canned air into it and see if that helps.It usually isn't the problem. If it dosen't then there is a very good chance your laser is broke and needs replaced. This is a very common problem with the PS3's. It starts by not reading certain discs then eventually it won't read anything at all. I would take it to a game repair shop and have the laser replaced. If you want to do it your self (its pretty simple really) it will save you some $$$ and you will have it back sooner. I will be more than happy to walk you through replacing the laser if you choose to do it yourself.

sounds like the laser's stuffed. the lasers in those machines are notoriously bad. you'd best be careful. a dodgy laser will cause laser-burn to the discs. i had the same thing on my machine. i could play a couple of games, then there was some that would work after i took them out and put them in, several times. after fixing the laser, ive not had the problem again.

You should try if you didn't to clean the disk with water or glasses cleaner and then dry it off with a microfiber cloth or something you use to clean your glasses. You could also purchase a disk cleaner at best buy or some other electronics store for around $25. It might be the game not the console

Sounds like you need to get your money back ..the resurfaceing can also do more bad than good
But a little trick lightly rub a crayon over the disk ,,old pantyhose works great rub it off from center out then try your disk ,,have saved many good games that way
