A/C fan very loud

The A/C fan on my exterior unit didn't start up two summers back. I tried manually rotating it a bit, which fixed it, and it has worked fine for about 2 years. Recently, a visitor noted how loud our fan was outside. It is much louder than identical units nearby, though it still works and cools our house well. Is this likely to be a lubrication issue, or possibly a capacitor or motor issue?

Sounds like a motor issue check for loose bolts on top of the unit i would get the unit cleaned and have the technician look at it

If the air coming from the condenser is not hot or warm you may be hearing the compressor trying to start but it will stop after only a few seconds as the overload opens and shuts it down. The compressor could be bad or there may be something keeping it from starting properly. This is not good and you should leave it off until someone can come out to look at it to prevent possible further damage. The other possibility is you are hearing one of the components inside the electrical compartment buzzing. This one is not so bad but can still cause more problems if not addressed soon. Can't really go into much more detail about this as it involves high-voltage parts and the rules forbid DIY instructions. Someone may read this post and think "that's what wrong with my system" and attempt to fix it themselves. Either way it is something that I would recommend having looked at soon unless the weather is mild enough for you to go without the A/C for a few days.

With the limited information i would suggest the following:
Check to see if the outdoor unit is running.
If the outdoor unit is running, grab the large copper line coming out of it and see if it is cool.
If the fan outside is running and the line is not cool then the compressor is not running or the system has lost its refrigerant charge.
Check these things and repost for a more complete answer.
Hope this helps.

My Sunbeam air conditioner has always flipped the breakers in my house (old wiring), but it worked fine for two summers and then sat last summer. This summer it blows the breaker constantly and in the...

This is a good question to ask. 1. if a unit trippes a breaker its for 2 reasons. A. to protect the wiring from catching fire . B. to protect you from electrical contact with ashort condition. Before you buy a new unit I would recommend you fix the wiring as bad siring is ******* the unit and costly to operate due to load resistance. Also replace any breakers that are unsed to support this unit. Brealers go bad esp if they have been problematic in the past. I am not certain as to the size of the unit you have now but if it cooled the room well then replace it with a match or a bit bigger unit.
As to why it tripps the breaker now? could be a couple thing Bad wiring like you state. weak breakers as I pointed out. or a bad compressor or fans. Or in my view its most like a combo of all the above. Hope this helps let me know.. Jon

E805 is Fan Rotation Error. It means that one of the internal fans have failed. Problem is repaired accessing service mode. Identifying the defective fan through the sub-code. Reading DC voltage to fan. Replacing fan or troubleshooting supply problem.
The repair is suitable for a technician or for an expert DIYer.
Try powering down the unit (disconnect power cord), and see if this can clear the error code.

Can not find directions to reverse fan rotation for summer

it should be a simple slide switch on the side of the housing that moves up and down to change the direction of rotation of the fan motor and blades. look at the manual that came with the fan to make sure it has this feature but i personally have never seen a fan without one.

Samsung home theater HT Z410 fan chk will not stay on anymore

Can you see or hear if the fan is running? Is there sufficient clearance (4 inches) between it and the nearest surface for airflow? Is it clogged up with dust bunnies? You may be able to fix it yourself.

Unplug the unit. Look inside the vent at the rear. Reach in with a non-conductive probe to see if the fan turns freely. If not, it's bound up and needs replacement or unclogging.

If it turns freely with power off but doesn't rotate with power on, it's dead.

If it turns sufficiently fast with power on and you still have Fan Check, it's a sensor.

Resolve this issue and it will probably stop trying to protect itself by shutting off.

the motor could just be locked in place from sitting...take a stick or something and try to see if it spins be sure of rotation! you can also give it a little nudge while it is on and it will take off! if this happens then you have a bad start compacitor but no there are no fuses that only protect the motor!

Try to check the noisy fan, slow rotation of fan can cause the icing evaporator. Unplug the unit and rotate the fan manually by your finger check if the fan is not misalign or not touching the fan frame. Or check if fan motor bearing is not worn out. Under charge of gas is also one of icing cause.
