The light goes off means the machine has turned off. There is nothing wrong with the machine. The machine requires 1,300 W power. The electricity connection you are using at home might be below 1,300 W. That is why, the machine goes off while cooking because it is not getting enough power,

The square end fits in the hole at the back of bowl and the round end fits into slot at the front. The rotisserie starts automatically when you press the start button. It can also be turned off if you are grilling."
