Question about Heating & Cooling

Cannot Find Low pressure port for 1996 Buick Skylark.

This is actually my 2nd question about this problem. I should have given more info in the first one. I can only see one A/C rail that connects to the radiator. There are 2 ports on that same rail that are 3 inches apart. One port is the regular A/C nipple that the the recharge quick connect coupler goes on and the other port has threads and has an electrical plug in it. I am sure that there has to be 2 different pressure rails. One for low and one for high. I have a problem with the port that the quick connect coupler is supposed to attach to. It does not attach, the Port nipple is too large for the coupler. I know that the recharge coupler will not fit on the High pressure port so thats where I am lost. i cannot find any other ports. I followed all the A/C rails form the firewall, compressor and the accumulator and there is no port. I was trying to find the location of the Low pressure port so I know if I have to get an adapter or what. I hope I explained it well enough. Thanks.

I found the Low pressure port. It is right under the compressor which is under the car behind the radiator. I thought they make the car so there was easy access to it but apparently not. Thanks for the help everyone.

What is ets off on a car l have a 1996 Skylark

The actual cause may vary. If I remember correctly a bad oil pressure switch might cause the ets to turn off. Or it might be a defective oil pump. Either way, you will need a qualified technician troubleshoot the cause.

Try recharging your Freon. You can buy a recharge kit at almost any auto part store. Hook it into the low pressure port on the A/C line. On my 3.1L it is best to jack it up and get to in from underneath, metal line in the middle with a blue cap.

Where is the low pressure air conditioning service port on a 1998 Buick Skylark?

Locate your AC compressor.
The low pressure service port is located on the back of the compressor where the high and low side connections bolt to the compressor.
Look on this line about 4 inches or so back on the line.

Hope this helps.. Best of Luck

You need to have the tranny service. If it is a longtime the fluid could be too old to do it's job.

Cant find Low pressure AC port

Did you check the acumulator? There is a port on it, that is the low side port. Keep in mind that if you have to recharge the system it is because other parts need service (leak in the syst) and whatever refrigerant you put in it will leak out again. The system may work temporarily or may work inefficiently. Also may sure that there is oil in syst.
