Acer 6920: when the Bluetooth button is pushed, nothing happens

Apparently some people have reported that when they pushed the button, they at least got a message telling them that there is not Bluetooth device. Does that mean I have that capability or not? If so, what procedure do I have to follow in order to get it to work?

That sounds about right, but there are several problems:

    1) My hard drive has 320GB of space
    2) My wireless is 802.11.a/b/g/Draft-N WLAN
    3) I have 3GB of DDR2 RAM

And other inconsistencies which makes uncertain whether or not I actually have Bluetooth on this computer. Also, I've tried to get my computer's Bluetooth to work, I even looked in the Device Manager, but didn't find any indication of a Bluetooth device - no drivers or anything. What can I do to test whether or not I have Bluetooth? I tried to install the Bluetooth driver from the Acer website, but it wouldn't complete the installation because it said that I don't have a Bluetooth device. If that were the case, then shouldn't I still get a message telling me that when I push the Bluetooth button next to the keyboard? All of the other buttons work fine.

If you havn't already, updating to service pack 2 (assuming you are running Vista) may help, as it resolves some of the Bluetooth issues with Service Pack 1...

I had the same issue as you, and SP2 seemed to work.

  • This are the specs for your computer ...and yes it apers that it cames with a 2.0 blutooth device ...and if it isnt already installed you have to install the driver ...and I believe on the CD (recovery and install ) you already have the driver for Vista home ...cause this is the way they came ...so the chances are that your device is already working but you just never tried it ..or used it ...so ..in general works just like the devices from phones...get it on ...and locate it by the name in the other ...or put on the device on the phone ...and locate it with the computer ...Good Luck !

I'm pushing my bluetooth button on my Acer 6920 butit says no device is found, eventhough my Macbook Pro's blue tooth is on.

Hi,

The Acer Aspire 6920 is available in four different versions, so chances are that your laptop does not have the bluetooth feature even if there is a button to turn it on.

I recommend that you find your manual and check to make sure that is has the a bluetooth feature.

Regards.

Please anyone solve my problem?

this problem generally occurs with blue tooth devices.
before reinstalling device driver
  1. shut down your system properly
  2. turn on your system.
  3. turn on the switch of bluetooth
  4. now try to reinstall the driver
  5. after installing driver restart your system.

hi,
just try to check with drivers, which is provided with the laptop..
if this not help then take it to service station and ask them about the circuit of bluetooth. if it is available then tell them to put appropirate drivers.
cause in many acer model they give an option of bluetooth but there is no bluetooth. they provide u and slot for that. for ur future options
this might solve ur problem
